What's on your coffee table right now?

We have 4 remote controls, hand cream, kindle, post it notes, a nearly burned down candle, a cup of tea, a plate of biscuit crumbs, a tub of halloween sweets, dust and dh's feet

It's always a mess, thus I can't be arsed to dust it!

Tell me what's on yours, or show me. I'd love to see some coffee tables with beautiful and interesting things on them

A candle; a vase with pine cones in it; a pile of things which includes a book on Sisley; Good Housekeeping and Country Living Christmas editions and a new book I bought and haven't put on the shelf yet (Shirley Hughes - Dogger's Christmas). Just realised this makes it sound like the house is ready for Christmas and it is definitely not and won't be until about 10 days before!

I hate cluttered surfaces

A thunking great bowl from the Fayoum pottery village, Tunis - we live in Egypt. It's full of assorted crap as we've just got a new cleaner & she is scared to chuck stuff out: lighters, bits & bobs of jewellery, old batteries, a well chewed cat collar which should probably be binned but it's going back on the cat when he re appears from duffing up the dog...

Two coasters, TV guide, remote, tide timetable, three books and a picture of Bonfire Night in Lewes.

Two limed candlesticks and a box of matches. It's the kitchen table that gets covered with junk.

3 Christmas mags bought yesterday, a large wooden bowl of dried pine and pinecones and dried leaves with very small lights inside, my autumn decoration which will be changed on Friday for Devali

A moon lamp (but I can't switch it on because it needs recharging), a book about the history of photography, a jar candle, a jar from an old candle filled with micro led lights and a framed watercolour effect photo of a church. Oh, and my cup of tea.

Nothing I don't have one !!!

Two work phones, two empty glasses, a remote, some sewing, a tupperware with grapes, hospital letters, lego cards, candle and coasters. Will be tidied up before bed!

Lamp, half full mug of tea, pen, nail varnish, cat comb. It's a side table though as I don't have a coffee table as such (hence the lamp)

About 15 animal toot toots, all lined up in neat little rows!

@MrsBartlet I used to love Shirley Hughes books when my children were little.
I need grandchildren!

I collect Shirley Hughes books. Can't wait to get the Christmas ones out!

@Whenwillow My youngest dc is 20 and I don't have any grandchildren yet- this was unashamedly bought for me To be fair I do work in children's publishing but I don't think I really need that excuse to buy a Shirley Hughes book!

A dobber (remote), a mug from last night, a teepee, some cuticle cream and a rather funky glasses holder and a couple of days worth of contact lenses that I took out and didn't bin

2 coasters , I glass of lime squash , 2 types of sore throat sweet , remote control for the fan , 3 types of hand cream , the portal screen , a box of tissues and a box of dulcolax .

3 candles, 2 tubes of glitter, a spray bottle of glasses cleaner and cloth, box of tissues, remote control, tin of cola flavoured travel sweets and a wireless laptop mouse

Theres a blow up zimmer frame just next to it though, best pals DH 50th birthday today so i'll be doing a doorstep delivery of it later on

I don't have a coffee table. Never have.

Due to clean this evening....
Coaster with a tea bag from a cuppa I had an hour ago. The tray with candle and bits thats supposed to be there. Empty cup and a few tablets in a blister pack.

I started a new job today. Feel quite exhausted from the mental energy. So not sure I'll do my normal weekly clean. Trying to move over to the organised mum method. Although still planning for a weekly clean right now I am slowly doing more as and when.
