... he came to collect something and I presumed they would just hand it over on the doorstep but no, I’m upstairs and I hear DH “come in, you haven’t got anything contagious have you” chuckle chuckle 🤦‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

OP posts:

Yeah, not ideal OP , but brace yourself for the influx of people telling you how ridiculous and unreasonable it is that you even noticed 🙄

Amber0685 · 08/11/2020 15:32

That would piss me off too OP. What did you say to him?

Aquamarine1029 · 08/11/2020 15:33

Fantastic. And some stupid people wonder why it's still spreading so much.

Chicchicchicchiclana · 08/11/2020 15:35

What a complete and utter dickhead. Did the friend come in? If so, ditto.

WunWun · 08/11/2020 15:37

If you're not happy about it then go and say. Not sure what you want anyone here to do about it.

Bluntness100 · 08/11/2020 15:37

Oh good, here we again, with some folks getting hysterical at the thought of it. It’s like mjmsnet bingo

Just waiting for someone to accuse him of being a murderder.

Shaniac · 08/11/2020 15:38

Fuck me. How are you people going to cope when restrictions are eventually lifted? Never go out or meet people ever again? The virus and countless others will still be out there.

Dontforgetyourbrolly · 08/11/2020 15:39

I'd be more worried about the potential fine than catching anything to be honest . Unless this guy is sputtering bodily fluids everywhere and your husband is sitting on his lap then there's very little to worry about. Presuming you won't be drinking out of his tea cup before washing it.
And of course , he actually has to have the virus in the first place .

Wyntersdiary · 08/11/2020 16:04

Meh

Chicchicchicchiclana · 08/11/2020 16:08

It's the easiest "rule" of this lockdown to follow and they can't even manage that? Fools.

Youandmealwaysandforever · 08/11/2020 16:13

My DH gave a lift to someone on Friday who was in desperate need.
I freaked as DH is vulnerable but it was the right thing to do. Doesn't stop me worrying for the next two weeks.

PhilCornwall1 · 08/11/2020 16:14

Cue, murderer, selfish and all the other bollocks that's been doing the rounds for the last 7 months.

I'm sure someone will be incandescent with rage in a minute.

user1493494961 · 08/11/2020 16:18

It's your house as well and I would have gone downstairs and told the friend he could come back for a cuppa once restrictions had been lifted. I wouldn't care how embarrassed or annoyed DH would be.

Bluebellbike · 08/11/2020 16:48

Someone has been fined today for "popping in for a cup of tea."

FippertyGibbett · 08/11/2020 16:49

I would have kicked him out and had a stern word with your hubby.

wishywashywoowoo70 · 08/11/2020 16:56

I would have done the same. How close were they going to get. Wipe the surfaces when he leaves and wash the cup. No big deal.

Bluebellbike · 08/11/2020 16:56

Sorry that link didn't work. I'll try another.

NiceGerbil · 08/11/2020 16:58

Oh weird

I was reading the op and thought it was going to be the op didn't realise he was there and came down in her nightie or something!

Forgot about Corona entirely there for s minute. Was a nice minute Smile

PhilCornwall1 · 08/11/2020 16:59

Forgot about Corona entirely there for s minute. Was a nice minute

Get yourself back to that place ASAP!!

Paperdolly · 08/11/2020 17:07

Are you in a T3 area OP?

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 08/11/2020 18:09

Stay home and any going out should be for essentials. I’d have not let him collect in the first place unless urgent and definitely would have ensured no invites inside were offered. The rules aren’t hard to follow.

RosieLemonade · 08/11/2020 18:37

@Paperdolly are tiers still relevant? We are T1 but surely we all in lockdown now?

Paperdolly · 08/11/2020 18:45

Just being nosey I guess RosieLemonade

Spied · 08/11/2020 18:48

I'd have to go and tell him to leave.
The friend may be glad of your intervention and may have felt he couldn't say no to your DH.
