... he came to collect something and I presumed they would just hand it over on the doorstep but no, I’m upstairs and I hear DH “come in, you haven’t got anything contagious have you” chuckle chuckle 🤦‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

Just being nosey I guess RosieLemonade
I can see what you mean, if you are in a T3 your mindset could be different to a T1. To be honest this is Lockdown Lite compared to last time. I think people (rightly or wrongly) are not following as closely as last time.

I think your DH was wrong. No hysteria here, no claims of being a murderer, just exasperation that the simplest of rules can't be followed.

In the current climate I have some sympathy where family members are having to follow the spirit but not the letter (eg grandparents providing childcare to two sets of grandchildren, someone having to visit their mother and their mother in law because both are elderly, need support and they don't want to choose which one to abandon for a month), but this situation is just stupid.

Tradesmen are allowed in your premises and they could be visiting loads of other properties in one day. It doesn’t make sense.

My mum has my DD so I can work. There’s no other way around it. DH works on live gas sites and I’m a teacher. Yet I can’t go in to have a cup of tea with her despite her having DD and providing intimate care all day. It makes no sense. But before anyone jumps on me I’m following as much as I can while still holding on to a job.

Yep, we had two in doing the bathroom last week and will be back today to finish off. Will then be having another in to get a window fixed. They've potentially been around a load of people. On top of all that the boys are at school and college.

Fine with us, we aren't putting our lives on hold forever.

This is precisely why DS1 hasn't been allowed to leave his house since February, by his hospital. He'll fucking die if he catches it. Can we all just wear masks, socially distance and only go out when necessary? Thanks.
