If you enjoyed The Wire ....

Looking for another box set to watch.

Enjoyed and watched The Wire, Gangs of London, the Bridge.

Like cop/thriller/mystery.

Seen a million of box sets but trying to find something I haven't seen.

I'm loving The Walking Dead but not my partners cup of tea.

The Sopranos, aka the greatest TV show of all time.

EvilEdna1 · 07/11/2020 18:58

The Shield. Builds across seasons to a brilliant end.

QuentinQuarantino · 07/11/2020 18:58

The Shield is fab!

The other Scandi one - the killing? Excellent and also the US version was good. Borgen also good but not police - it's politics

Bluefargo · 07/11/2020 19:02

Have you seen The fall (police - killer) or in the line of fire?

PuppyMonkey · 07/11/2020 19:03

Have you done Succession yet? Magnificent.

Dowser · 07/11/2020 19:06

Loving line of duty
Up to end of season three so far

Cardinal - iPlayer

lemmywinks84 · 07/11/2020 19:11

Treme!

FTMF30 · 07/11/2020 19:14

Ozark
Power
Marcella (I wasn't that interested in this one, but it's a bit of a mystery and involves police solving crimes)

FTMF30 · 07/11/2020 19:16

I should also add that Power has a LOT of sex in it. Not something you'd want to watch eith certain family members.

boatyardblues · 07/11/2020 19:19

Both Stranger and The Lies Within (South Korean crime/political thrillers) on Netflix are excellent, brilliantly written and acted, though they are unflinching with the crime scenes so avoid if you can’t hack gore. The second season of Stranger is even better than the first, but it helps to have seen them in the right order.

minmooch · 07/11/2020 19:22

Seen lots of these (I'm a secret binge watcher). But keep the suggestions coming.

Just came across The Young Wallander so giving this a go.

Love all things Scandi.

Anyone watched Nobel? One of my all time favourites.

Suburra - Netflix
Gomorrah - Sky/Now

MrsJBaptiste · 07/11/2020 20:36

The Shield...

Is it a Scandi drama (DH can't cope with subtitles) 🙄
How many series are there (don't want to wait too long for a crescendo ending!)

Catwoman1985 · 07/11/2020 21:31

Peaky Blinders maybe? Period but with lots of contemporary touches

No it's American. It stars Michael Chilli's and the fantastic Walton Goggins. Its about a group of corrupt police officers.
EvilEdna1 · 07/11/2020 23:51

Also it's 7 seasons but there are lots of sub plots but the corruption aspect builds and builds while you get to know the characters and fear how it might end.

MrsJBaptiste · 08/11/2020 18:09

Thanks @EvilEdna1

Sounds like an American Line of Duty which can only be a good thing!

SunsetBeetch · 08/11/2020 19:00

Breaking Bad.
True Detective
Cardinal (Canadian, available on BBC iplayer)
Ozark
The Shield
The Sopranos
Mindhunter
