I've been up a long while already, everyone else is still sock on. It's silent outside & slightly foggy, I'm quite enjoying my cup of tea watching the leaves fall off the sycamore & dance their way to the ground.

I have the usual weekend stuff to do - couple of wash loads, ironing dd1's shirts, baking for next week.

Myself and dd2 are currently isolating as our bubble at school popped so I might start a steady craft project with her that we can do on an afternoon once online school is done. Not sure what yet though.

Not sure whether dd1 wants to do anything yet; we'll see when she gets up.

I might send her for a walk to lidl for salad with their dad so she still gets some fresh air & out for a bit, as unexciting as that is!

What about everyone else? Anyone up to much?

Just debating what we’re going to be doing once the usual chores are out the way before I get up properly. DS2s Saturday activities have switched to Zoom, so he’ll be busy with that, but DS1 has had his sports stuff cancelled and will be at a loose end during lockdown weekends. So keeping an eye out for ideas here!

Annabanana455 · 07/11/2020 08:35

Feeling rough myself and been up since early with a toddler with a cold / teething. So probably not much!

RosieLemonade · 07/11/2020 08:36

DD was up a lot in the night which is unusual for her so we are still watching TV in bed. I’ve said I’ll treat her to a bath together (I like mine boiling. She is only 3 so it will feel luke warm to me 🥶). We are also making cakes and going for a scoot to the local park. I’m trying to protect her from realising we can’t see any family but no doubt she will soon start asking who we are going to see today 😬

ApolloandDaphne · 07/11/2020 08:37

We are going Christmas shopping and we will have lunch when out. I am in Scotland and in Tier 2 so able to do this.

Cheesewine · 07/11/2020 08:39

Walk to the park then parents in law coming round. Done all the house work last night when DD was in bed. Very cold and foggy here!

lurchersrule · 07/11/2020 08:40

My children are at their dad's so I'm going to sand and paint the last two outside windows that I didn't get to in the summer - apparently it'll be dry today and raining tomorrow so need to get my arse in gear to get two coats done and then a final coat hopefully next weekend... I also have a pear tree I need to take my saw to...

Just as well I have these job to do - have a stack of marking too but kids did the work yesterday so need to quarantine the books before marking so can't make use of this childfree time.

Awrite · 07/11/2020 08:41

Going to a local country park for a walk with one of my siblings and their family. We're in Scotland and I think this is allowed.

Beautiful sunny day here.

Then home for a bit of pottering about.

tigerbear · 07/11/2020 08:44

Snuggling in bed with DP right now, then later will meet a friend for a walk in the park.
Friend is baking cakes to bring, and I’ll bring a thermos of hot chocolate Cake

mogloveseggs · 07/11/2020 08:48

Need to clear out the hall and take up the runner that the cat had an accident on.
Dd wants to see a friend outside.
Dh is taking Ds to do some footy practise on the field as all football is off.
Need to go get a poppy from somewhere, not been anywhere to get one!

badlydrawnbear · 07/11/2020 08:59

No idea. Currently, I am trying to keep DC quiet in this room, as DH is asleep on the settee (am also not thinking about why he slept there). DC want to go in the other room where the ipad and tv are. DH has plans to build an item of furniture and rearrange the kitchen. I need to get DC to do homework. DC1 has had no homework at all since the start of term and now has 5 things to do. Apparently, the teacher told them weekends are for relaxing and they shouldn't do their homework on the weekend! So, now DC1 is complaining that I am asking her to do it, but I don't get home from work until after bedtime some days. Am working a night shift tonight, but gave up on sleeping before night shifts in the first lockdown when I had to teach DC in the days then go to work overnight.

I'm going to write my assignment. I'm in my second year of an English Language and Literature degree. I had one due in on Thursday which took up all my time, and this one is due on Monday. I have written about half but don't feel like it's going well.

First though, I'm waiting for DH to get out of bed. He cooks our weekend breakfasts. I can't possibly write an assignment on an empty stomach Grin

Lazysundayafternoons · 07/11/2020 09:09

The concrete is being poured for the foundations of our new house this morning. DP is over there and I'm home with our DC. I'll call over for a nose when 1yo is up from his nap.

The freezer I ordered is ready for collection today. We actually dont have a freezer at all at the minute so I'm really looking forward to getting it.

AhoyMeFarties · 07/11/2020 09:15

I am going to potter, all day. Grin
I like pottering

Topsy44 · 07/11/2020 09:16

Really quiet one for me and DD. I have just started a cold and DD is at the end of one so we are having a cozy one mainly watching lots of tv and generally pottering plus the usual homework coaxing. We're usually quite busy so it feels nice to think we haven't got to be anywhere this weekend.

lucysmam · 07/11/2020 09:18

Oh crikey @Lazysundayafternoons I have two freezers, couldn't be without either of them! Enjoy filling your new one.

@GetTheStartyParted you couldn't possibly work on an empty stomach!

@badlydrawnbear I hope your nightshift's not too taxing. I'd struggle with no sleep :(

DH is at work today so just me and DCs. We are all still in PJs! Got some housework bits to do. DCs are currently reading. Not really sure what to do.
DD hurt her foot so can't walk and that's all there is to do really!!

I will clean the car and see if DCs want to join in. Play in garden. Pop to shops.

God its all so boring isn't it!!

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 07/11/2020 09:31

Currently waiting for saussies and rashers to cook. After that, DH is going to finish putting Halloween in the attic if he knows what's good for him and the kids and I are going to plant paperwhites for family christmas gifts. I'm going to give the place a good dust and hoover as well, and clean the bathrooms. In between, I need to pop out a few times and encourage our wee broody hen out for some food and water. She has no eggs anyway because we ate them so I don't want her to waste away sitting on nothing and losing weight before winter.

Tomorrow, we're making christmas cake, then probably lighting the fire and watching a christmas film while the house fills with spicy, citrusy smells.

gingercat02 · 07/11/2020 09:32

@lucysmam I love these threads, haven't seen one of yours for a while 😀
We are all up. DH and DS are gaming. I'm watching Autumnwatch with a coffee and a cat. Plans for today going to the tip before lunch, hopefully out somewhere for the afternoon and then a Zoom call with some old friends this evening
