Anyone that hasn’t started Christmas shopping yet?

OP posts:
grassisjeweled · 04/11/2020 00:42

I tentatively started browsing today, not bought anything though

HeddaGarbled · 04/11/2020 00:47

Me. Just starting to think about it. Adult children and no grandchildren, though, which I think makes it easier.

JaJaDingDong · 04/11/2020 01:06

Me.
Won't start until December. I'd prefer to have a mad shopping week than to eke it out over several weeks.

Me too. I won't do anything until we hit December.

Viv0321 · 04/11/2020 03:20

Do you have kids?

OP posts:
Waxonwaxoff0 · 04/11/2020 05:31

I haven't, and yes I have kids. Well, one kid.

Bmidreams · 04/11/2020 05:40

I have kids and haven't started. They still don't know what they want. I am starting to feel a bit scared. Not sure if that is valid.

FraterculaArctica · 04/11/2020 05:44

Me. Kids need one present each and a few stocking bits, don't understand why that needs months of shopping.

yikesanotherbooboo · 04/11/2020 05:57

Me.i don't tend to shop until December.

theviewfromhalfwaydown · 04/11/2020 06:01

Me I have three kids and always leave it till the last minute. Last year I did most of my shopping on Christmas Eve. They get loads from family anyway so only get a couple of bits from me.

EasterIssland · 04/11/2020 06:08

Here! I tend to leave it to December. I might check this years Black Friday

AwaAnBileYerHeid · 04/11/2020 06:31

Me. I love Christmas and always leave everything Christmas-y till December. I don't want to water down the festive season by starting in October/beginning of Nov as so many people I know do! Come December, I will be full om Christmas-y!

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 04/11/2020 06:36

I have one child and I havent started. I get it all from internet shopping, I never go to the high street anymore. I actually hate going out shopping, especially at christmas time.

PopsicleHustler · 04/11/2020 06:41

Yeah me. Hahha because am muslim. We dont celebrate Christmas. So no worries about shopping for me. Just hubby birthday coming up and hes getting some new tops online and that's the end of that.

JaJaDingDong · 04/11/2020 09:22

My kids are in nn their 20s now, but I've never started shopping until December. Never really even think about Christmas until then (although it's difficult when we're bombarded with ads and towns have decs up from about September!).
The C word is banned in our house until 1/12.

lazylump72 · 04/11/2020 09:24

I havent bought a thing for Christmas yet ..can't face it! However I do have dh bday friday and dds bday on saturday so maybe when thats out of the way I might feel a bit more inclined!

LeaveMyDamnJam · 04/11/2020 09:27

Nothing yet except a few cards.

I have an adult child, husband, mother and sister. I know what DC and DH are getting - I just need to order them, mother and sister are getting John Lewis vouchers as per their requests.

Bluesheep8 · 04/11/2020 09:47

No

Bluesheep8 · 04/11/2020 09:49

No kids and unable to see family due to Tier 3 rules. Which will be the minimum restrictions in my area by then.

Hickorydickoryspock · 04/11/2020 09:50

yeah me. I didnt even think anyone would have yet? Its only the start of November?

User56770987 · 04/11/2020 09:56

Yes because...
There's some great sales on Oct/Nov.
I don't want to go out shopping when it's busy.
There might be a stricter lockdown nearer Christmas with shops shut.
Online stuff can take ages to come if ordered in Dec
I don't want the disappointment of trying to get a toy and it being sold out everywhere.
If your not fast your last.
I can spread the cost over 2 or 3 months pay.
I want to spend December cosied on the sofa watching Christmas movies not at the shops.
I have 2 dc and don't go overboard with pressies.

User56770987 · 04/11/2020 09:56

Yes I have started because....
that should say

Topseyt · 04/11/2020 10:00

I won't be starting until either the end of this month or early December.

My children are grown up, but will be joining us for Christmas. No grandchildren.

Batlights · 04/11/2020 10:01

I haven't started yet but will do it all online this year and expect to be finished by the end of November. There are also some people who I won't see this year so I'm not sending a gift and will buy them a present next time I see them.

mindutopia · 04/11/2020 10:14

I haven't even thought about it, but we usually don't until at least the start of December.
