Mumsnetters of the world - can you send postcards please

I work in a bilingual creche with children aged 0 to 3 years old, in Brittany, France. Just like all the other children in the world we are currently on lockdown.

Our project this year is the world. Because of the lockdown the only thing (apart from play) our little ones can do is go for a walk to our post box every day which is at the bottom of the car parkSmile

I wondered if kind mumsnetters and their children would send us postcards from the towns, cities and countries where they live. We have a world map on the wall and we've received some cards from friends abroad already.

The children love to receive the cards, look at the picture and talk about who sent them.

We would be really grateful, you can write in French or English 🤣

Our address is

Le P'tit Club, 3 Rue de la Ferme de Talhouët, 56250 Saint-Nolff, France

Thanks so much

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU

I took a 2 year old and a 2.5 year old to the post box today. There were so many cards their little hands couldn't carry them.

So let me say thank you to the following:

Lucy in London. The snail picture was cool. We have a bug hotel in the garden in creche and we feed the birds too.

Chelsi in Sunderland. I'm from bishop Auckland originally Chelsi you made me a bit homesick.

Ami in Yorkshire, thank you

Amber, thank you

Sophia in Cardiff. We have a little girl called Sophia in the creche too.

Zara in Cardiff aged 8, thank you

Rachel in chippenham

Jenny.

The ducks in Milton Keynes. One little boy of 18 months adored this card and we had to drag it off him at home time. Lots of quacking going on this afternoon.

Also lots of woofing too. Hello Pippa the dog, you were ridiculously clean on your walk.

Jude in Edinburgh thank you

G in Wales , thank you.

Two cards from Berlin.

The church Yorkshire in the snow, what a stunning photo.

The pony who ate the apple in the summer. We liked his card.

Plus the barge, lots of row your boat singing for that one.

The card talking about the meerkats we have a zoo near us called Branfere. It's really great and in non covid times the children visit with their families.

My personal favourite the picture of the sea from the Isle of Skye, I had my colleagues looking for that whale for 20 minutes🤣

Hopefully I haven't forgotten anyone or got the details wrong. I was jotting info on a post it note but the kids were going crazy for the cards.

Oh the person who wrote in French. Thank you your french is not sad at all it made us very happy.

Again a million thank yous. The little people (and us big ones too) had a great time looking at them all this afternoon and reading your wonderful messages

What a great thread.

In the middle of all the chaos in the world, kind people sending postcards to children has to be one of the purest beacons of hope.

Most people are mostly nice most of the time.

I’ll send you another from Yorkshire.
I live very close to a big tv transmitter on a hill. It’s a local landmark, that you can see for 20 miles or so. Everyone says they are home when they can see it.

This is the most heartwarming thread. It's made my day to see everyone doing something kind just because.

I love this idea! I'm feeling very bored and lonely. I'm a huge Francophile and sending this postcard has really brightened my day.

Report

Also I don't have kids but sent it from myself. I hope that's not weird. I used to work in an école primaire years ago so hope the kids like it.
