Yes 100%

lboogy · 03/11/2020 21:28

100% it would put me off

AWiseWomanOnceSaidFuckThisShit · 03/11/2020 21:30

Thanks folks. Just wanted to know it isn't just me who would be extremely irritated by it!

I'm in the 'no' camp. Dogs bark.
Ok, maybe if it's a high pitched, all day yapping.

confusednortherner · 03/11/2020 21:35

You could be my neighbour or you could be someone looking at the house by them that's for sale!
These dogs bark constantly and everyone here hates them, our dog only barks once at the postman and that's it, he looks genuinely confused every time we pass their garden! I feel really sorry for the neighbours trying to move but don't blame them at all for trying to escape as at least we have a bit of distance between us where they are nearly joined.

Siennabear · 03/11/2020 21:35

Bass that should be

Thecazelets · 03/11/2020 21:45

@boarboar

Yes. If they're inconsiderate about their dog theyll be inconsiderate about a lot of other things too.
This. The barking dog was the tip of the iceberg.
Didntgetmydiamondring · 03/11/2020 21:45

Yes.
The shitty yappity thing at the back of us wasn’t here when we bought, it arrived a year later.
We can’t hang our washing out, put the bins out, even brush our teeth in the bathroom with the widow open, without that thing yapping it’s head off. My blood is boiling as I type.

wwud12 · 03/11/2020 21:49

Yes, but it's not always a reflection on the owners. Mine barks as soon as we let him out. Started doing it last year for no reason. I fly out of the door to quieten him down, and will bring him in once he's done his business. Even in the summer if we are all sat in the garden together he will bark if he sees a squirrel or if he hears someone passing the house. Although we shush him, he doesn't stop for a good five minutes. We would never be able to leave him outside for a long period, as without schussing i doubt he would stop.

Crazycrazylady · 03/11/2020 21:49

God yes!

Is your dog a shepard? Sounds like the same problem we are having.

We have 2 other dogs who are silent, so not a treatment problem, I think its a breed thing. Tried everything, as its driving us crazy too.

wwud12 · 03/11/2020 21:59

@Hiccupiscal no he's a Lhasa. And we have two and only the younger one is doing it. The older one wouldn't even bark at an intruder. It's not too bad as his bark isn't that loud, but as someone who is irritated by persistent barking I try make him be quiet as a matter of urgency so not to annoy the neighbours.

muddledmidget · 03/11/2020 22:04

Yes. Although when we viewed a house about 10 years ago the estate agent apologised for the dog barking next door and how she'd never heard it before so it couldn't happen often. We didn't like to tell her it was our dog, left with my husbands nan for dog sitting while we viewed. Nan lived in the attached house and was our main reason for wanting to buy the house.

Icequeen01 · 03/11/2020 22:13

Yes!!! We live next door to an idiot who has 8 dogs in a small modern house with a tiny garden. We know we will never be able to move!

Suzi888 · 03/11/2020 22:17

No - I’m in the minority though Grin

Suzi888 · 03/11/2020 22:18

No

Redburnett · 03/11/2020 22:19

Yes.

Ideasplease322 · 03/11/2020 22:23

Of course

IceFemonLanta · 03/11/2020 22:24

Yes, my Gran was driven demented by 2 constant barking dogs neighbours kept outside in pens in their garden. She had a stroke in the end with the stress.
She had tried to explain to them, involve Environmental Health but no one cared until she died

ballsdeep · 03/11/2020 22:26

Yes. Even if the house was perfect it would out me off

EL8888 · 03/11/2020 22:29

Yep. It’s infuriating. Next door but 2’s dog does it and to want to murder it. Despite being an animal lover. But they are quite anti-social in other ways including 6 cars on a terraced road

FingersXrossed · 03/11/2020 22:29

A dog was barking loudly in a house we went to view. Could hear it from every room. I felt sorry for the estate agent. The house sold but we didn't buy it!
