DS has done a two week meal plan with me today based on his upcoming surgery and what we already have in. Then he did the supermarket delivery order. It gives me joy to see that he can just get on with 'domestic' chores etc.

And I went for a walk. Had to make myself, but I’m glad I did.

Oh Sunday I made a cake and cookies! Today I have gutted my bedroom, moved my bed etc, gutted the bathrooms and cleaned around the rest of the house. No one visiting so all for me to enjoy and the kids to destroy 😉

I may have slightly massively increased the amount of cheese.

I took the youngest (3) to the Arcade, we played lots of 2p machines and won lots of tickets he won a little plastic turtle and is over the moon with it!

It’s such a treat going to the arcade it reminds me on my childhood, first last chance we will get to go this year I think.

I also want to know about the cake. And see a picture of the toad-in-the-hole with idiot-proof instructions. I am unable to make an edible version of this and my gannets would love it...

I made myself a lunch that I haven't had since I was in middle school. It was just a jacket potato with cheese and a salad made up of cucumber, apple, celery and grapes but I throughly enjoyed it! It really lifted my day! I used to be the only pupil that would eat the "crunchy salad" option when it was offered for school dinners and I'd totally forgot about it until today.

I made a beef casserole and shoved it in the oven at lunchtime so that it could cook all afternoon and be ready when I knock off at 5.30.

I made a start on weaving paper stars for garlands and decorations for the thing whose name won’t be mentioned yet...making pretty things brings me a lot of joy!

Went for a run.

I just bought the L’Occitane Advent Calendar of Dreams. That’s the name of it but I’m hoping it’s that good

I made Millionaire’s Shortbread.
God, it’s literally a killer. 100g butter in the shortbread, 95g milk chocolate (I sneaked a square) on top and almost a jar of Lidl’s dulce di leche. All for 16 squares.
To me it’s just a fancy Twix but the others love it, so.....

And an easy envelope-back cushion cover from matchy-matchy material for DD’s new bedroom. My sewing machine and all the bits arrived from the old house on Saturday. I hadn’t realized how badly I missed it in the last month.

So I’m feeling happy about those. But now I’m Mumsnetting to procrastinate vacuuming and mopping the kitchen.

Oh, and yesterday I made some origami boxes from the Lidl X* catalogue. They look like a little festive house!

Did some online shopping for new boots and went for a walk at lunchtime. Going to the gym after work, while I still can.

I went for a long walk in the rain, then to the garden centre cafe for lunch. I bought MIL a little light up Christmas building to cheer her up (she likes that sort of thing) because she’s been having radiotherapy and she has radiation burns ☹️.

We're having fish pie mac-n-cheese for dinner tonight but I want cake now too!

I made a chocolate cake OP. It's my go to activity when I'm stressed or sad. I don't even eat the cake, just making it lifts my mood.
