Our tenant moved out last week and had ordered (the day before she left 🤨) 2 parcels to our house. She’s been an absolute nightmare of a tenant and we’ve had to raise a dispute to keep the part of her bond that she didn’t already owe us in rent to cover a tiny part of the damage that she’s caused. This did not go down well and she stormed off, refusing to provide a forwarding address. Before she found out this she’d told us about the parcels and asked us to take them to our house and she’d collect them. We reiterated for the third time that we have moved house and now live 30 minutes away (she doesn’t drive).
We were at the house having new carpets fitted when the first parcel arrived and we refused it so it’ll be returned to sender and she’ll get a refund.
The second parcel was left in the recycling bin so I brought it home with the intention of returning it to Hermes. Except I can’t get through to Hermes on the phone. Their online chat feature doesn’t actually allow to you to chat with anyone and I can’t set up a return online as I don’t have the email she used and I don’t know the company that she bought the item from.
She wants us to drive the hour round trip to her sister’s house to drop it there but I’m not prepared to do that. I’m also not prepared to pay to send it there either as this is entirely her mistake. She’s threatening all sorts as we’re trying to ‘keep her parcel’ when we actually have no intention of keeping it or desire to do so yet she still won’t provide her forwarding address.
Anyone got any idea how I can actually manage to get in touch with a real person from Hermes so I can arrange for them to collect the parcel?
