So, did you actually get any trick or treaters last night?

After being adamant we weren’t going to open the door, it wasn’t necessary anyway as no one knocked!

Usually we get quite a few children knocking, so I was surprised.

Either they only knocked on houses with pumpkins (something we all do around here), or there genuinely wasn’t anyone out last night.

How about you?

No one called but was aware there was a pumpkin trail around the village with sweets at some places so there was no need to knock. Was shared on Facebook throughout the week.
There were screams and fireworks going off but had no issues with that.

We arent in the uk so I took the kids out and left sweets on out doorstep. It was busier than last year, more people out and about and more houses taking part.

We usually have a lot of people come but this year our neighborhood did a pumpkin trail. A few people left sweets outside with hand sanitiser. We felt very safe and had a lovely household party. Everyone made an effort and we had a nice meal together, bit of dancing. It was just what was needed.

We dropped bought bags of sweets for easy cleaning on a couple of doorsteps of families who we know well and exchanged sweety bags with nieces and nephews at a distance. All covid secure.

Like I said it was a lovely night and our children really enjoyed it. There are ways of doing these things well and still staying safe.
