and have kept it clean and relatively tidy for longer than two months, please come and talk to me. Tell me how you did it.

Tried Flylady years ago, didn't work for me.
Have dabbled with TOMM and would consider giving it another try.

Im just going round in circles not knowing what to do first or how to establish good habits. (I do find being tidy and getting organised a big challenge).

Get rid of 75% of stuff.

When in doubt, throw it out.

Do NOT keep stuff that "might come in handy one day". The one thing that you might need in two decades time you can just buy again.

Do NOT try to sell it, it will just become clutter in your hallway waiting to be sold or picked up and you might change your mind. Forget about money and donate the good stuff. Make someone else happy. Bin the rest. Get it out of your house a.s.a.p. Even if it means a daily carload to the charity shop.

After that, TOMM plus a yearly (or seasonally) decluttering.
