Just that really. 😢

We live in France and I fear for our business. We live very rurally with only 2 deaths during the whole situation. Local equivalent of BBC news are reporting it is what will be announced by president Macron tomorrow.

LaChatte - re "I will have to drive him there and come back, I have no idea which attestation I need"

I would tick the box at the bottom of the attestation that says Déplacement pour chercher les enfants à l’école et à l’occasion de leurs activités périscolaires.

I see that @CoteDAzur has already put the relevant link in for you.

For anyone that needs it, here is the link to all of the attestation options:

My poor DS had a driving lesson this afternoon. I'm a single mum and have to work. There is no public transport where we live. Usually he is happy to walk the 10k into town. The instructor won't come and collect him. Well he can't walk because he's more than 1k from the house. Our neighbour who would usually take him isn't allowed so he had to miss the lesson. This whole situation is shit.

On the plus side Noz is open so maybe I'll get some custard creamsGrin

LaChatte · 30/10/2020 19:15

You can walk 10km if it's to get somewhere (driving lessons are allowed).

brittanyfairies · 31/10/2020 08:06

@LaChatte that's great, I'll let him know. Thanks for the help

LaChatte · 31/10/2020 08:17

The 1km 1hr limit is only for exercise.

LaChatte · 31/10/2020 08:19

Forgot to add practical driving lessons are allowed, not theory!

Several days on, and I can say with certitude that nobody takes this lockdown as seriously as the first one, including the police.

The streets are full of cars and pedestrians, and the police doesn't seem to want to check anyone's attestations anyway.

LaChatte · 06/11/2020 18:49

As long as the schools are open, no one is going to take it seriously.

Gendarmes checking attestations yesterday at the roundabout near our village. Never saw them at all during the last lockdown.

Jemenfouscompletement · 06/11/2020 20:55

As from this weekend I've heard there will be more contrôles. Especially with over 60k infections in the last 24 hours. Today here there were a lot of checks.

I think very few are taking this confinement seriously or where I live even taking Covid seriously. I work in a creche, yesterday a mother arrived at 18h to pick up her son. She hung around chatting for 10 minutes then as she was leaving casually added that he wouldn't be in for a couple of days because both his grandparents had tested positive so she and her husband had booked their tests for the next day. Honestly who sends their kid to school knowing they could be covid positive?

Another parent sent their child in with a fake medical certificate saying he was fit to attend. We didn't realise until an hour later when we called them to come and collect him they didn't show up until 14h.

And a 3rd child just 12 months old. Arrived with a cough but no temperature. By lunchtime her cough was so bad she vomited, her temperature rose throughout the day. She vomited her gouter her cough was that bad. We called the parents twice to come and get her and make a doctor's appointment. She was the last child to leave and the mother refused to make a doctor's appointment because they can do nothing for a cough.

I wear a mask all day and wash my hands all the time, but with attitudes like that I'm going to catch covid, and I've got 2 DCs crammed into lycee. I'm feeling really down about the whole thing today.

Our collège are doing quite well with the new protocol sanitaire, there are a few moments where the kids are a bit closer to each other then they should be (going up to class at the end of break for example), but I think over all it's as safe as it's going to get. Several colleagues (DH included) are pushing for half classes but I think that would be pretty crap for the kids' learning. There is an appel à la grève for Tuesday which looks like it might be well followed.

Went to do the weekly shop today. No checks, no police in sight. Supermarket heaving, people wearing masks under chins, no social distancing whatsoever. Bref, on n'est pas sorti de l'auberge.
