Yes I did buy something from you.
Yes, you can email me deals

But I am going to unsubscribe from them because you are emailing me every single day about deals and that's too much.

Anyone else care to add their own miscreants who don't understand what over marketing means.

I've blocked most stores due to this.

Very is next on my list snd Iceland definitely hasn't got the memo that this over marketing leads to blocking.

FlyingFlamingo · 27/10/2020 08:00

Lands End. Every single day they tell me about the sale that is about to end, until the next day when a different sale starts. They are the DFS of clothing!

CareerFuckerUpper · 27/10/2020 08:00

I bought a clothes airer on Amazon recently and it now keeps spamming me wifh with them. I want to advise them that I needed one. Necessity, not desire. I've got one now. I am not a clothes airer addict. I won't suddenly think 'ooh go on then, one more fucking clothes airer, I'll treat myself '.

Aw go on, you know you want another! Go on go on go on!

rslsys · 27/10/2020 08:10

Dear Amazon
I bought a Ring doorbell from you during the Prime event.
It's fitted to the front door and works very well, thank you.

I don't want a daily e-Mail asking me if I want another one!
It's a doorbell, not a bloody doughnut!

HibiscusNell · 27/10/2020 08:10

You can unsubscribe from most marketing but bloody Waitrose and Marks&Spencers require you to agree to receive Marketing emails in return for having their loyalty cards - and, their loyalty cards are just about worth having.

It's so annoying though. If they sent an email just once a week it would be ok but they bombard you with them almost every day. It's ridiculous and intrusive.....but I guess I could just give up the loyalty cards.
It makes me feel very very annoyed.

buttersidedown · 27/10/2020 08:16

Roman Originals was the worst for me! A couple of days after ordering from them I got an e-mail saying they were missing me, followed at least daily by ‘where are you?’ e-mails. They seemed to be sending about 3 a day!!

I have both these loyalty cards, but I never get emails from either store, so I think you have misunderstood here ... just unsubscribe!

Next is the absolute worst.

Go online. Find a thing. Order the thing. A few weeks later expensive bound catalogue I didn't ask for appears. For which I have to PAY. If I could find the first item on the Internet I'm sure subsequent purchases could be located in a similar fashion.

TheQueef · 27/10/2020 08:22

Wayfair.
They know how to spam.

cariadlet · 27/10/2020 08:25

This is one of the reasons that (back in precovid days when I visited more physical shops) I always used to say no thanks to ereceipts and ask for a paper receipt. No way was I letting anyone have my email address if they didn't need it.

I also have a junk email address and try to remember to use that one for online shopping so that follow up junk emails don't fill up the inbox for my main email account.

pinkandstripey · 27/10/2020 08:33

It's the ones that when you unsubscribe think you mean you just don't want to receive that type of email.

Yes, cos I don't want 'deal of the week' emails, but I want to receive 'deal of the day' 'stuff you've not seen since yesterday's email' and 'LOOK AT US! WE'RE STILL HERE!' emails....

Thesearmsofmine · 27/10/2020 08:37

Love Honey, usually 2 emails a day.

Cheesymonster · 27/10/2020 08:38

John Lewis will not stop daily emails even though I’ve unsubscribed a billion times.

Frequentcarpetflyer · 27/10/2020 08:41

Boden Hmm

InFlagranteDerelicto · 27/10/2020 08:47

Iceland. I tried to sign up for online shopping a while ago, when our usual supermarket had no slots, & switched from picking in a warehouse to in the local store (we can just go there if we want the stuff from our tiny local shop). Only after I’d signed up for emails, was I able to discover that Iceland don’t deliver to my area.

Unsubscribing doesn’t seem to work. It’s like they’re going Lalalaaa I can’t hear you every time I try to unsubscribe.

jambeforeclottedcream · 27/10/2020 08:48

Boohoo.com
Damart- I even get sodding snail mail stuff from them most weeks too

Why do you have to pay for a catalogue you don't want?
FlyingFlamingo · 27/10/2020 09:09

I got caught out by the Next unsolicited £3 catalogue years ago (when their webpage was just a virtual catalogue so you couldn’t search and it was really awkward to navigate) to be fair they did refund it when I complained but it’s so sneaky! In these days of easy online shopping I can’t believe they are still doing it!

I've never thought about it like that before, but now you mention it, how true.

Land's End keep sending me snail mail too. Surely they must be able to find a way of only sending them to people who order by phone? If I'm able to receive emails then I'm able to view their website. I don't find brochures very helpful because you can't filter things and can't see if they still have your size in stock.

NanooCov · 27/10/2020 10:06

Gap, Boden, Hush (have never even bought anything from them!), saint+sofia, M&S. I have the Gmail app and that pretty usefully sorts all the "selling" emails away from my inbox. I then go through it once every few days and delete them all (or unsubscribe from the worst offenders).

MidnightFlit · 27/10/2020 10:12

Charlotte! Darling! Even though I bought a MAGNIFICENT* Charlotte Tilbury eyeshadow quad two MAGICAL years ago, you and your plastic-faced fembots were still popping up in my inbox daily until I unsubscribed, darling. It was like being stalked, darling.

Also Beauty Pie. I'm not even a member. Yet every day, the breathless emails about how much money I could be saving by buying products I'm not buying at full price. Offer me a deal, then!

*It wasn't very magnificent

Crunchymum · 27/10/2020 10:19

Gap, I can guarantee it is always the first email I get every single day

I do occasionally buy from them so tolerate the daily email Shock

HibiscusNell · 27/10/2020 10:38

Hmm, I’ve just had a look again at Waitrose and the wording changed but it’s still a bit ambiguous but I cancelled all sections now. I’d previously only cancelled the finance and the John Lewis ones. Hopefully I won’t any now. Thank you.

I’ll go and check Marks...
