The best decision(s) you ever made?

Inspired by the regrets thread! It sounds trivial, but I'm so happy I clicked an invite link that ultimately showed me into one of the best groups of people I've known. We're all great friends and always there for each other.

Kept my ds.

I came very close to a termination due to severe HG. I'm so glad I carried on. Gives me chills to think I might not have had him in my life

Keeping DD1. Unexpected pregnancy and me and DP had only been together 7 months, both living at home not having our shit together. She changed my life in the best way possible, she'll always be the best accident I ever had and over 7 years on we have another DD, have a mortgage on our home and are engaged and getting married next year 😊

Snog my DH (over 30 years ago). I was just slagging about, snogged him & never snogged anyone else again. I've made some shit choices, that is my gold star wise choice.

When my boss wanted to close my dept and have me go back to my old job, I took proper HR independent advice and ended starting my own company with his support.

3 years on despite COVID and being self employed it was the best decision I have ever made professionally

I don't think any of my choices have proven to be amazing long term. It's more a case of cumulative impact of opportunities taken that led to enriching experiences or where I managed to do some good for someone else. I guess buying a flat in my 30s and starting a pension.

Joined Bumble against my better judgement, matched with a VERY good-looking man who I thought was way out of my league, who worked five minutes from my workplace but lived an hour away so we must have ‘matched’ based on proximity when we were both at work - organised a date, the rest is history, he’s moved in and we have been blissfully happy ever since ❤️😁

Moved back to the UK from the US a year before I became very seriously ill needing major surgery.
It would have bankrupted and/or killed me to stay over there.

Moved out of the family home aged 17. I was skint but moving to a different place and meeting people with a different outlook gave me the boost I needed to succeed in life. I dead to think how my life would look now if I would have stayed at home.

Choosing what college I went to based on a boy. I didn't end up with much education wise but 13 years later we're still together, married, beautiful child and beautiful house.

Same as @bearlyactive too. The group of friends I couldn't live without I have because I responded to a FB group post and the rest is history.

Started my own business after 15 years working for others. Best decision ever and never looked back. Hard work and long hours, but it's a pleasure to be able to pick and choose your customers/clients!

The best (but hardest) decision I ever made was to go "no contact" with my mother.
It still hurts and makes me physically sick sometimes, but ultimately life is easier.

Moved away for a job in my 20's.
I live in a beautiful part of the country, surrounded by fields and views that I will never tire of.
My lovely husband makes me laugh every day and we have a life neither of us expected. He was nursing a broken heart when we met and thought his chance of children had passed him by. Now we are in the teenage years, I rather thinks he wishes they had passed him by 😳🤣

First one is moved to the town we live in now. We used to live in a rough area of a small city, but wanted somewhere else. The only way to be able to move out of our house was to move away from the area. This was nearly 10 years ago now and neither me nor DH can ever see us moving back even though all our family are still there.

Take up running. Wish I had done it a lot sooner than 32. I have made the best friends through running and can also get away with eating more cake

Deciding to look into bts one night, they've sparked a passion for music and inspired me to actually do something with my life, honestly pulled me out of months of a depression funk, and although it sounds sappy and cliche, they have genuinely helped me through stuff

Rescued my greyhound out of the kennels after he was starved and mistreated. Watching him loving life makes my heart melt every day
