What do you do that you know is stupid?

For me, I automatically tend to think that people with more money have less problems .... and live an easier life.

I know that's not true, but due to childhood beliefs default to thinking those with money automatically have it easier.

What do you do, that you know is stupid?

Life is made much easier by money

Doesn't exclude tragedies and ill health. But living with them is easier if you can buy the help you need

Thanks

Life is made easier by money

But

Problems still exist, which my mind struggles to equate xx

I stay up too late and don't get enough sleep, knowing I will feel terrible the next day. It is stupid.

Iwonder777 · 24/10/2020 18:45

I do that too !!!!!!

I eat toast. I know my spreading middle-aged tum would retreat if I could just lay off the carbs but... toast.

And sushi.

And baked potatoes.

BoudiccasBoudoir · 24/10/2020 18:51

I let my kids nap too late/ in the day, then they won't sleep at night, and we just have a loop of that until I get tired and grumpy enough to re-implement the routine I now does work if I stick to it.
Actually just generally sticking to to Routines.
And budgets.
And recipes.

It's not even rebellion if it's against things you've made yourself. Like, who am I rebelling against? My better self?

Eat too much. I’d save money and calories and wouldn’t have to force myself to exercise as much if I could just resist temptation!

Smoke.

Worry about things I can't control.

TheGoodEnoughWife · 24/10/2020 18:58

Drink too much.
Eat too much.
Procrastinate!

I find there is a real distinction between 'present me' and 'future me' - future me is amazing and will eat properly, drink less and get the fuck on with things but unfortunately 'present me' turns up at some point and does none of the good things that 'future me' thought they could do :-(

I have finally found my tribe 😁

OrangeGinLemonFanta · 24/10/2020 19:09

I need to submit a checklist of relevant documents every time I complete a case. It would be SO MUCH EASIER to add documents to the list as I use them, rather than going back and doing them all at the time of completion. I told the new starter to add as she went along. Do I follow my own excellent advice? Do I fuck.

Not pay for Deliveroo monthly all in delivery when we clearly spend more than the amount it costs per month on delivery. I'm in denial about how much take away we eat. As we don't eat out anymore.

SanFrancisco49er · 24/10/2020 19:18

Drink diet fizzy drinks. I've cut back hugely as I'm pregnant but it's a habit I can't (don't want to) break although I know I need to!
I don't drink, never smoked or taken any drugs so I justify it by telling myself it's my only vice!!

ChooksAndBooks · 24/10/2020 19:19

I use wine to relax and combat stress.

Chicchicchicchiclana · 24/10/2020 19:21

Smoke a few cigarettes every week.

Sit on my fat arse and almost never exercise.

Look at my phone when I can't sleep at night.

Procrastinate every task that I don't get joy out of to the nth degree.

MidnightFlit · 24/10/2020 19:26

Oh, and waste HOURS of my day playing bloody Two Dots.

SplitEndsNHairyLegs · 24/10/2020 19:28

Eat too much sugar.
Vape.
Snooze my alarm when I know it’ll mean I’ll feel stressed having to rush to get ready.

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 24/10/2020 19:31

Believe the hype on other people's social media pages...

I've always done this too

I'm 66 in 3 months and future me never materialised.

I still get by doing the same thing 😞😞😞
