and tell me something random and out-of-place that's in there?

I'm in my bedroom but there's a box of Sensodyne toothpaste, as yet unopened, sitting looking at me. It's on its way to the bathroom - has been for a couple of weeks... It'll make it there at some point I'm sure!

A month ago I'd have been able to claim more than a year's worth of birthday cards on the mantlepiece ... we were overseas last Christmas so they didn't get sorted then ... But I did finally pick them up and put them in people's rooms and the general ones on the stairs.

But otherwise, my living room is just a complete disaster zone, which is particularly bad and embarassing because it serves as my music teaching room so I have a few students and their parents in here regularly. Sitting on the sofa I can see 7 violin cases of various sizes, not counting others under the harpsichord, which we were given but need to get repaired. On top of said harpsichord are far too many books folders and papers, a computer mouse, a pocket kite and a helicopter toy ...

I won't describe the other end of the room ...

There is a box of garlic bulbs on my sofa. I accidentally ordered twice as much as I need for my garden and now I will either have to dig three extra beds for it or find a friend who will take it.

I'm not sure how much garlic I use in a year, but so far I've planted 20 cloves of elephant garlic and 60 cloves of other (assorted) varieties. I think I already have too much.

I'm in the bathroom (cleaning) and my address book is in here....

I used it downstairs to send a present to someone yesterday, brought it upstairs, needed a wee, put it on the bathroom cabinet and forgot all about it Blush

Three tons of weighty coffee table tomes on the (admittedly) coffee table. None mine. None about anything interesting or likely to get read any time soon (BF is a film buff and serial buyer of said weighty tomes...)

A xylophone.

Not a toy xylophone, a proper musical instrument. It's been squatting in my sitting room since lockdown began, unable to be returned to its rightful home as it is still closed.

Huge bass cab and guitar, in the kitchen.

DH has been moving them to the office for over a month now. Hmm We aren't allowed to sit them, but the cat is ignoring him.

I'm in my living room. There is a small pet carrier, we have no pets.

My son uses it for his teddy rabbits 🤷🏽‍♀️

I’m in the kitchen.

Nothing random/out of place as such, except DH has left a set of metal files on the counter. But it’s half agreed that he’s okay to do so at weekends when he’s working on projects.

A small, sad looking stuffed mouse, that the cat was playing with last night. I should throw it away because it is so manky, but it’s years old, and her favourite. Last weekend DP laughed at me because I stitched it up and crocheted it a new tail.
