How does your primary aged boy have his hair cut?

DS has fine, straight hair. See pic. Needs cutting today. He always had a ‘straight back and sides’ before lockdown but now he likes it longer. 2 ‘cowlicks’ at the front and a very high hairline doesn’t help. Any suggestions? Thanks

Short back and sides. Slightly longer on top but he likes it like that, it doesn’t get in his face and it’s not long enough to need brushing. He’s been told if it grows long if will need brushing (not a threat, just a fact!) because although I don’t really have an opinion on how anyone has their hair, I won’t have any of them going out looking straggly or scruffy!
Seems to keep him feeling fine about going to the barbers every couple of months Grin

My DS (7) has hair that grows outwards instead of downwards. I think that if it was straight it would be on his shoulders. As it is, it just sticks out round his head.

He desperately needs a haircut but does not want one. Since it is his hair, and I need to respect his bodily autonomy if I want him to respect other people's I am leaving it for now. The first poster to reply to this thread would definitely not approve.
