Four of us, dds age 13 ( a young 13) and 15. They respectively want something romantic and something funny. We like old films but could be anything, not violent or overt sex stuff.
My mind has gone blank !

I go for films like miss congeniality or the wedding singer when I want a cheese fest.

How about enola Holmes if you have netflix? It's not laugh out loud funny but I enjoyed it with my niece last week.

mogtheexcellent · 23/10/2020 20:59

Or the eurovision film. Now that is funny.

SirVixofVixHall · 23/10/2020 21:12

Dd s say no to Enola Holmes based on the trailer.
Doesn’t have to be cheesy at all, just something not sad, violent, rude or dull.

They liked Notting Hill. Like old films, black and white is fine. Costume drama good but i think we have seen most of them .
They loved Pride and Prejudice ( the Colin one) .

What about something like Gentleman Prefer Blondes, or Breakfast at Tiffany's?

SirVixofVixHall · 23/10/2020 21:30

Yes maybe Breakfast at Tiffany’s, we watched Gentleman Prefer Blondes last week, all love it.

GallopingGreen · 23/10/2020 21:34

Letters to Juliet - nothing rude in it and a lovely movie. It's on Netflix

ouchmyfeet · 23/10/2020 21:34

Booksmart

GallopingGreen · 23/10/2020 21:35

Also watched Steel Magnolias recently for the first time in years! Brilliant

Butterflyball · 23/10/2020 21:38

Grease or dirty dancing

Butterflyball · 23/10/2020 21:39

Grease or dirty dancing

GuyFawkesHadTheRightIdea · 23/10/2020 22:02

If they liked pride and prejudice I'd recommend Jane Ayre, the Michael Fassbender one. My girls love it as do I.

SirVixofVixHall · 23/10/2020 22:06

DH loathes Dirty Dancing and I have never seen it, so not that. I will google Letters to Juliet, Steel Magnolias and Booksmart now. We have spent so long trying to choose a film it is now too late so this will be for tomorrow night.
