Me...when I’m feeling extra lazy I use two teabags together rather than pulling them apart so I have leverage to pull the dipped one out and into the bin, instead of using a spoon.

My brother has purchases a film on sky instead of going upstairs to get the dvd. We are all still astonished by that one!!

Anyone else?!

I love this thread.

Always take the tea bag out with fingers rather then bother to cross the kitchen to get a teaspoon. Takes a while of gingerly poking the surface to find a bit of tea bag to grab onto. Then I have perfected the squeeze and twist technique to leave a non drippy tea bag to put in the bin.

Reading that back it does sound like more effort than actually using a spoon. Hmm

Oh and the clean laundry gets heaped up into several piles around the house depending on where its drying, then on a Sunday evening I have a massive fold-a-thon whilst watching Strictly or whatever else is on.
Guilt free binge watching cos I'm doing a Useful Chore.

MJMG2015 · 23/10/2020 22:42

@SnowHare

I have a very bad back and once I am upstairs for the day i get my DCs to carry things up and down the stairs for me (plates, cups, washing). I call them my 'worker ants'.

My DSis was horrified by this.

(It's part of their pocket money chores)

I'm puzzled...isn't that the whole point of having kids??
IEat · 23/10/2020 22:47

@DumbleDorkReturns

Buy pre-chopped frozen veg / grated cheese / diced meat / ready cooked microwave rice & pasta Blush
I'm the same.
IEat · 23/10/2020 22:48

@MrDarcysMa

I hate putting on the bedding so told my DP that my arms weren't long enough to do king size duvets when we upgraded our bed.

7 years later he still believes it 😂

Bloody genius.
Tiredmummy2014 · 23/10/2020 22:50

Doesn't everyone do this with the mug and glass... 😳

AmelieTaylor · 23/10/2020 22:52

There may be a few things on the thread that are somewhat familiar...

🤣🤣

Sparklfairy · 23/10/2020 23:03

I have smart bulbs too.

Putting clothes on the clothes horse to dry... Then just leaving them there and never hanging them up, just wearing straight from the dryer.

Also use the same mug all day, and depending on what I've eaten, I'm not averse to reusing a plate.

Spending "five more minutes" on MN to put off doing any task I hate.

SingingSands · 23/10/2020 23:07

I poke all switches on with my big toe. Started when I was pregnant and bump was too big to bend down.
Haven't been pregnant for 12.5 years Grin

SuddenArborealStop · 23/10/2020 23:13

I never get my own dessert or alcoholic drink, I let DH do it, I tell him it's because I would drink and eat more if left to my own devices, this is somewhat true but mostly I don't want to get up

Butterflies13 · 23/10/2020 23:14

Tea with tea bag in
When just cooking for myself i sometimes do a pasta with pesto and eat straight from the saucepan to save washing up

SlopesOff · 23/10/2020 23:16

You guys are my people! I put joggers and a big puffer coat on over my pjs if I have to go to the shop for milk/bread etc on a lazy day

I put my coat on over my dressing gown when I need to go to the post box.

HotSauceCommittee · 23/10/2020 23:17

Another one for pee in the shower and menopause car nap at lunchtime at work.

goingtogetsomesleep · 23/10/2020 23:19

Teabag goes in the sink because the sink is one step from the kettle but the bin is 3.
At a later time I remove it from sink and put it in the binHmm

Ilovelblue · 23/10/2020 23:19

I only eat ready meals very occasionally but when I do, I eat straight out of the container so there's no washing up to do afterwards.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 23/10/2020 23:20

I'm trying to work out if there is a way for Alexa to control the kettle so I can book it from bed in the mornings.

user127819 · 23/10/2020 23:24

I make sandwiches on a piece of kitchen roll so I don't have to wash up a plate.

Bubbletrouble43 · 23/10/2020 23:25

I've ordered scissors on amazon prime because I can't be bothered to search for the old ones.

You can buy smart kettles (but presumably you'd need to put water in the night before). Alexa can then switch it on Grin
SlopesOff · 23/10/2020 23:26

When I do my last wee before going to bed, I leave my trousers round my ankles and penguin walk along the landing to bed. My belt buckle sounds like Christmas bells ( in my head). Beside my bed I step out of my trouser/knicker combo. I then do a moonwalk backwards to slip my socks off

I take mine off while I am still there and hang them over the banisters outside my room on the way past. I don't have a chairdrobe and my clothes go in my dressing room which is in the opposite direction to the bedroom so I just dump them there and sort them out later.

Mylittlesandwich · 23/10/2020 23:28

I iron so infrequently I don't know where the iron is. I cleverly bought iron in name tags for DS starting nursery and rather than look for the iron I used my straighteners to put them on.

SophieGiroux · 23/10/2020 23:28

I also did nursery drop off then a visit to Lidl with my pj top still on under my coat!

BillywigSting · 23/10/2020 23:28

I regularly do the school run in my pyjamas (black leggings and a t shirt) with a big coat over the top on my days off.

Saves rushing for a shower before it's time to go and means I can have a nice peaceful leisurely shower once ds is dropped off.

Occasionally I'll throw clean but needs ironing laundry back in the wash so I don't have to iron it (mostly dp's shirts)

Sometimes I empty the little trap thing that catches any bits of food from dirty dishes over the plughole in the kitchen sink down the sink, entirely defeating the point of it. Sometimes the bits and gunk is just too gross to deal with so it just gets pushed down the drain with a fork.

Sparklfairy · 23/10/2020 23:28

Just remembered another one. I cut meat and certain veg (mushrooms, celery etc) with kitchen scissors directly over the pan to avoid getting the chopping board out and fannying around with a knife.

Buy everything frozen veg wise that I can. Can't be doing with cutting onions or chopping peppers.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 23/10/2020 23:29

To be specific, without buying a new kettle... DH is a Yorkshireman through and through. And after all, we have two young minions for such duties!
