What does this mean to you and where do you live?

"As of next week Mrs X will be coming back for Outdoor Learning and Art sessions for each class... Class 1 will have their session on a Friday morning."

Would this mean to you that:

A) Mrs X will be coming on one specific Friday.
B) Mrs X will come on every Friday henceforth.

And where in the country do you live?

I misinterpreted a message from DS's school and am wondering if I am just a muppet or if this is a dialect issue, as we have very recently moved to a new part of the country (UK).

DisgruntledPelican · 17/10/2020 23:36

B. East Midlands

Letsleepingdogslie8 · 17/10/2020 23:37

Option B because they said ‘on a Friday morning’ and not ‘on Friday morning’.

dementedpixie · 17/10/2020 23:37

B - scotland

PickAChew · 17/10/2020 23:37

B. What would it have to do with dialect? (where I'm from is immaterial as I have lived in various corners of England)

FuckKnowsMate · 17/10/2020 23:37

B. I’m a northerner

Awrite · 17/10/2020 23:38

Pelleas · 17/10/2020 23:40

Class 1 will have their session on a Friday morning

suggests A

As of next week Mrs X will be coming back for Outdoor Learning and Art sessions for each class...

Suggests it's more likely to be B

Thegreymethod · 17/10/2020 23:41

B. Because is says "as of Friday" if it was just one Friday it would say "on Friday"
North west

WatchTooMuchBelowDeck · 17/10/2020 23:41

Every Friday. Like a PP said it's the use of 'on a Friday morning' that is the giveaway that it's weekly.

PS in Scotland but I would have thought that's nationwide!

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 17/10/2020 23:42

B. Currently living in Scotland. Grew up all over the place due to military df.

ExclamationPerfume · 17/10/2020 23:42

B. Every Friday - West Midlands.

Surely if it was a one off it would say on Friday not on a Friday.

Spongeface · 17/10/2020 23:43

Option b- I'm Scottish

nbee84 · 17/10/2020 23:43

B - class 1 will have their session Friday. To me suggests that she will come each Friday and the following week she would be back but with a different class.

FiveShelties · 17/10/2020 23:43

B, Lancashire Lass living in NZ

Hailtomyteeth · 17/10/2020 23:43

'Their session'.
That's one. Otherwise it would be 'Their sessions on Friday mornings'.
North West.
And not thick at all. Startlingly intelligent, when pressed. Perhaps a little pedantic...
