Are the executive holding a meeting tonight or what? Getting fed up being pissed around like this.

Bump. Anyone heard any news yet?

buckeejit · 13/10/2020 23:15

They were late as were talking about fracking apparently.

Maybe 2 week half term. Still waiting.....

buckeejit · 13/10/2020 23:16

Reconvening at 11pm so we won't hear until the morn

Whenismumhome · 13/10/2020 23:18

I’m so fed up too OP.

I don’t want another fucking lockdown. We’ve done it once and that’s enough for me

PumpkinsandAutumnLeaves · 13/10/2020 23:18

Bloody joke. Most of the country have been waiting for this all evening. As sad as it sounds, the anxiety it actually unnerving me 😢

I feel it too. I was hoping for the sake of the economy and livelihoods that they maybe wouldn’t do another lockdown but i feel as though it may be coming.

What is the point? They will have to ease the second lockdown at some point just like they did with the first one and then, boom, cases will rise again!

PumpkinsandAutumnLeaves · 13/10/2020 23:23

Exactly when haven't the poor kids suffered enough? Weir was dead against it too, do you really think they will close schools?

They’re adamant that they won’t close the schools but with all the mind changing and last minute decisions that they seem to make it would not surprise me if they did end up closing schools again
cobpickles · 13/10/2020 23:31

I can see them closing the schools again

PumpkinsandAutumnLeaves · 13/10/2020 23:31

Did you see Arlene Fosters update video she just put on Facebook? She said they feel very strongly about not closing the schools for an extended period. Maybe there is hope yet

OP posts:
jessyjo2 · 13/10/2020 23:33

Yeah as per BBC they reconveined at 23:00.
Plenty to suggest 4-6 weeks tight restrictions. 😢
Guess schools will just have to prepare load of homework for that period.

PumpkinsandAutumnLeaves · 13/10/2020 23:37

jessy 😢😢😢 it's all looking so negative now.

I’m really not liking the sound of this
jessyjo2 · 13/10/2020 23:40

Pumpkin: Yes looked that up. But think Arlene said they don't want to interrupt schools long term. Not to say they won't close the short term. There again how do u define long and short term🤔

PumpkinsandAutumnLeaves · 13/10/2020 23:45

It's all such a big mess. And we won't know until the morning now 🤦‍♀️

I just can’t bear the thought of another lockdown.

Lockdown no.1 was a bit more bearable because the weather was generally nice and the days were longer.

Lockdown no.2 and the weather isn’t as
Nice and it gets dark early

Zeebeezee · 13/10/2020 23:54

Do you all think there would be any chance of both ROI and NI aligning in the Covid situation?

They did it before when Ian Paisley looked after the cows during the foot and mouth outbreak.

Wonder, seriously if would be too much to ask for the same to be applied to humans now.

We shall see. Don't rock the boat regarding all of us North and South. Ugh.

ReallySpicyCurry · 14/10/2020 00:00

Everyone I've spoken to have said they'll be cracking on as usual regardless of what is decided.

Hope they don't close swimming pools and gyms and the outdoor stuff like parks and farms

Whenismumhome · 14/10/2020 10:31

I’m assuming everyone has heard by now I’m sure but all pubs and restaurants are to close from Friday but they can offer takeaway and delivery service.

Schools are to close for two weeks from Monday

ReallySpicyCurry · 14/10/2020 11:16

Wonder hairdressers will be able to open, I've an appointment next week #shallow

I think I read that close contact services must close. But don’t quote me on that as I could be completely wrong
UpTheLaganInABubble · 14/10/2020 11:32

Hairdressers have to close for at least 4 weeks

UpTheLaganInABubble · 14/10/2020 11:34

Actually, that's what I've seen reported but it may be wrong, I think the Executive have said no home visits only

Whenismumhome · 14/10/2020 11:34

Very challenging time. So fed up
UpTheLaganInABubble · 14/10/2020 11:46

It's all very confusing. I'm assuming there'll be a press conference later
