What's the best European city break you've been on?

I love a weekend away exploring, obviously not at the moment. Our last trip was to Paris in January this year. We've also been to Vienna, Copenhagen & Barcelona.

Where are some great cities you've visited in Europe and why? How long did you go for? Did you travel as a couple or a family?

Much to my surprise, I really loved Sofia. Interesting buildings and history, close to mountains and we had some amazing guided tours.

Also, I know it's not strictly Europe, but Yerevan in Armenia was also amazing.

My top five (in order) are Istanbul, Lisbon, Amsterdam, Grenada and Venice. I also liked Naples a lot more than I expected to, but it’s not everyone’s cup of tea.

Prague, preferably in winter though, it's too crowded in summer. Also want to go back to Tallinn, their Christmas market is great fun.

Berlin.

Reykjavik/Iceland is great. There is a lot to see around the city itself- you can go on a whale cruise and try to see the northern lights plus the blue lagoon. You can also do the main tourist circle easily from the city (its called the golden circle). Youd either need to hire a car or join your buses but the country is amazing - unlike anywhere I have ever been before!

Thanks for all the answers everyone! I'm saving them all and dreaming of being able to nip off on long weekend breaks again 😊
