Mine would be an ability to recognize any tv commercial in 0.0001 seconds

I set timers on our kitchen Google a lot while I'm cooking. I'm absolutely amazing at standing up to check on dinner a couple of seconds before the timer goes off.

Bellabluea · 13/10/2020 00:46

I can say the alphabet backwards.

Anordinarymum · 13/10/2020 00:50

@ManxiousCat

I can remember every car number plate and every phone number of every car and phone I've ever had over the past 50 yrs ..
Now that's weird impressive :)
squeekums · 13/10/2020 00:51

I could win a trivia comp or the chase if it was only WWE questions, specifically the attitude era lol

ManxiousCat · 13/10/2020 00:55

@Anordinarymum And my Ex husband's as well, including his national insurance number and bank details #notstalkyatall

Looks admiringly at ManxiousCat

Itsmybirthday19 · 13/10/2020 02:24

I can tell you exactly which combination of celebrities a person looks like

AND

I can identify songs played backwards almost immediately

Itsmybirthday19 · 13/10/2020 02:27

Also pretty good at anagrams (went on a TV show where this is a key skill)

I'm also brilliant at quizzes, but I don't deem either to be a useless skill.

toffeekiwi · 13/10/2020 02:47

I can play the accordion and the bagpipes. One is more welcome then the other Grin

HeronLanyon · 13/10/2020 06:57

Now imagining a grand mn gala performance where we all display our ‘useless’ skills to rapturous applause, standing ovations, cries of ‘encore’ and confetti bombs and perhaps fireworks effects . . .

GreekOddess · 13/10/2020 07:00

I can spell in numbers.

Curlygirl06 · 13/10/2020 09:55

I can write with both hands. Mainly because I shut my right hand in a car door when I was 10 and damaged my thumb. I still do the crossword left handed so I don't lose that skill. My numbers are tidier left handed than right handed.
I can remember bank account numbers of people but not their names. I can remember phone numbers from years ago, even if I've not used them for years.
I can knit and crochet without looking, and if I come across a stitch that is wrong for some reason, I know it's wrong before I even see it.
I can do mental arithmetic and get the answer so quickly I have to go back over it slowly to make sure it's right.

batteriesgoing · 13/10/2020 10:01

Not really a skill but I can still w sit which apparently is difficult for most adults

ExclamationPerfume · 13/10/2020 11:24

I memorise numbers. I can remember every number plate of every car in my whole family since I was little. Also phone numbers even ones that have changed and I never forget birthdays/anniversaries.

GwenCooper81 · 13/10/2020 15:53

@SEE123
I always knew I could do it with my hands. One drunken evening my then best friend gave my two pencils to try it with my toes. Its such a useful skill. Really it is 😂. Not sure I could still do it as well as I once could. The joys of old aching ankles!

SorrelForbes · 13/10/2020 20:18

I can strip down and reassemble a 35mm slide carousel projector, a 16mm cine projector and any OHP!

DrMadelineMaxwell · 13/10/2020 21:17

I learnt to process camera film and pictures by hand during my art gcse.

supercee · 13/10/2020 21:26

I can dislocate my thumbs.

Redcrayons · 13/10/2020 21:50

One of my first jobs was to compile marketing databases straight from the yellow pages (I know, I’m old). Consequently I Can names the postcodes for most towns in the U.K.
I Used to be pretty good at phone number regional codes but I don’t think know many of them any more.

CloudPop · 13/10/2020 22:07

@DrMadelineMaxwell I've never got over not being able to solve a Rubik's cube. I didn't now I'll ever learn but it is a slight lifelong regret.

CloudPop · 13/10/2020 22:11

Doubt not didn't

K00kiEe · 13/10/2020 22:40

I can wobble my eyes.

caringcarer · 13/10/2020 22:48

If I want to.wake up at a particular time the next morning I just do without setting an alarm. I don't know how I do it and it is pointless because I could just set an alarm.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 13/10/2020 23:05

@CloudPop the pics on speedcube.au are really great for helping you learn. Once you can do the first side by sight, there are only about 6 patterns of moves (algorithms) to learn the rest. That's how I learnt. My mum used a book which was very complicated but the pictures were so much better.

CloudPop · 14/10/2020 07:33

Thanks @DrMadelineMaxwell - may well take a look!
