So is Trump being taken to hospital all part of the hoax?

Lots of people on Mumsnet seem certain that Trump doesn't have Covid at all, and it's all a set-up.

So is going to hospital part of the set-up? And if so, how does it play into the hoax?

Because there are a lot more leaky lips in a hospital than the White House. So I'm puzzled as how this helps the hoax?

When will his hoax death be announced, I wonder.
Hoax death will be good way for Trump to avoid ignomious defeat or even be found guilty of tax fraud.
AND he won't have to pay his £421 million in debts.
So win win. I could see it.

I mean, it's not like the White House doesn't have its own very well-equipped medical centre.

So, I'm longing to know how this all plays into the hoax!

I remember all the "in good spirits" "working hard in his hospital bed" about Boris and it turns out he was worse than they let on. Which to most people wasn't really a surprise. Seems Trump is also in good spirits and fully of energy working during the day...

Well, it's a military hospital not a normal hospital.

I don't know if this proves he does really have it.

I thought it might have been a hoax, but knowing trump he doesnt like to look weak.
He wouldn't let himself be admitted to hospital unless it was strictly necessary. Especially as people have said the White House has medical facilities.

The whole point of a pandemic is that everyone catches it. Me, Alexander de Piffle Johnson, Frankie Boyle, Idris, The Rock, Trump. Why the fuck wouldn't he catch it?

I have no sympathy for him. How many people have died as a result of his lies, misinformation and crass bravado regarding covid? Does he care about them? He had boasted abut not wearing a mask, claimed covid was a hoax and peddled ineffective and frankly dangerous 'treatment'. I couldn't possibly care less about him.

Trump never claimed that Covid was a hoax. That was misinformation from a Democrat ad propagated and amplified by the Media, the amount of people who repeat this lie without fact checking it say far more about how easy manipulation is:

Jon Sopel said that the White House has a small fully functional and staffed hospital within it, so going to an external hospital indictates a significant issue.

However, he can't have deteriorated that quickly - can he? I think it's just Mr Bravado realising he's not invincible and wanting all the bells and whistles at his disposal.

It fells with an opinion I read this morning, that he deliberately contradicts himself so that things can be spun different ways for different audiences, because people want to hear what they want to believe. So white supremecists hear “stand back and stand by” whereas moderates hear him denounce the “Proud Boys” a day later.

Same with this - opportunities for spin. He’s a hero, he’s a martyr, he’s just doing what he has to do for protocol, it’s a precaution, he’s sick, he’s fine, the virus is serious, the virus is no worse than flu. All can be spun from this.

Especially the very young ones that were reported lost somewhere in the system

Perhaps treatments they're using to minimise it need more escalation options than the White House has. So if he's having blood plasma and something goes wrong they want a fully equipped ICU available.

He may have never said covid is a hoax but he did say that it might be an idea to treat it with bleach and hydroxychloroquine. He has repeatedly failed to socially distance and wear a mask. He has accused scientists of over playing the risks and liberals of being fear mongers. I'm not going to start on his racist/sexist/xenophobic comments.

He talks so incoherently that you have to listen very carefully to see he is skirting around sennsitive topics,
giving the impression it's a hoax, without actually saying so
Many of his supporters proclaim Covid is a hoax, because they think he endorses that

Like he skirts around the white supremacists, e.g. the Proud Boys - hints he supports them, then backs off the next day
but the people he wants to get the message understand him all right
The Proud Boys are currently boasting online about this

He's also got a 14 year old son. This child is probably so scared. Both his mother and father diagnosed with Covid - and now one of them in hospital.

There's a time and a place for politics.
