Please do not say you are old at 40. This is the youngest you will ever be again so just buy them and go for it.

I know I shouldn't care, but Kickers were so popular when I was at school that I worry people will think I'm trying to recapture my youth! And that I'm a bit tragic as a result!

Well, I'd say no. I'm 54 and have just bought some glittery Dr Martens to add to my collection though, so make of that what you will I don't give a stuff if anyone thinks I'm tragic. Seriously, if you love them, get them.

Get them if you want to! Life’s too short to worry about what others think of your (perfectly nice and age-appropriate) boots.

I’m 67 and have just bought a very similar pair. I have no truck with being too old for anything.

Sadly at 51 I'm having knee & hip problems and there's no way I could cope with the laces on these., but I'm looking at the zip up boots now!

There's no such thing as too old to wear something.

When did kickers get so expensive?! They were a staple when I was at school and I'm sure my mum wouldn't have bought them for me if they were a pricey brand!

No they're fine, the only thing you're too old to wear at 40 ( barring anyone with medical conditions ) is a nappy.

Don't be silly OP, nobody has ever been too old for solid, comfortable boots.

I like those boots. I'd wear them and I'm well over 40. I'm all for wearing what you like.

I think that's another reason I like them. I was one of the less well-off kids at school, so never actually had Kickers. (I had whatever the Wynsors equivalent was)

@ScottyDottyDooDah I’m totally the same. Get them wear them with a few outfits in front of the mirror and as long as they look good and dont feel awful they’re yours
