What little things do you spend a lot of money on?

For me it is walking socks. We do a lot of walking/hiking and bad socks can cause all sorts of problems. So I spend silly money on decent socks - £25 a pair. But I think they are worth every penny. I've spent years testing out different brands and finally found my dream sock.

Chickpeas. I love them but I need them to be big and soft.

Paprika. I could get the cheaper versions but having lived in Spain and gotten used to the good stuff (which is cheap there!) I'm now forced to spend £5 on every pot I buy

Which paprika do you buy? I use it a lot in cooking

Jams/marmalades. Hate cheap supermarket jams.

Pebblexox · 28/09/2020 11:26

Pop and bin bags.

waitingforadulthood · 28/09/2020 12:23

Smells like- I prefer the silk route (the one with a camel on it) but will settle for la chinata in a bind Blush

Money4honey · 28/09/2020 12:24

Cigarettes and makeup 🤦🏼‍♀️
Cheap makeup is awful

Purplecatshopaholic · 28/09/2020 12:26

Make up and perfume. Defo agree re a good quality jam too, lol

Lobelia123 · 28/09/2020 12:29

Real butter - margarine is vile!!!!
Two ply toilet paper.....single ply is so rough its awful!
Free range chicken, eggs and meat - the difference in taste and texture is amazing.
Small luxuries that make life worth living :)

LajesticVantrashell · 28/09/2020 12:30

Flowers. £15 every two weeks.
Candles - cheap ones are a false economy as you can never smell them.

Takeaway meals

I'm disabled and my dh works long hours (he's a gp, we can afford it).

I've been trying to start cooking in the morning as it takes me a couple of hours to cook something from scratch and I'm very tired most of the time. We have a meal plan of takeout on Saturday as neither of us can be bothered to cook, but it tends to creep in midweek too. I'm currently counting up how much we're saving and I'm hoping it will pay for a weekend away for us!

My children... They're little and cost me ALOT 😁

Kisforkaylied · 28/09/2020 12:35

Nice nut butter - usually from independents. I eat it every day, so it ends up costing me a lot over the month.

Good lip balm - I buy the O'Keeffes and I get through a lot of it.

I was all set to be swayed from La Chinata then, but they only seem to have sweet and I mostly use hot.
LadyJaye · 28/09/2020 12:39

Bin bags, candles and cat litter.

Cheap bin bags are a false economy and the precious snowflake house tigers have decreed that only Catsan will do.

LockdownLemon · 28/09/2020 23:32

2 votes for quality bin bags - I'm intrigued - what do you buy?

Pen ink. I write a lot by hand still and bought myself a nice fountain pen recently. So much nicer to write with than a plain old biro so it's worth it.

BillThePony · 28/09/2020 23:51

Foundation, concealer and bronzer. Cheaper ones just don't last on me.

Cat food because he is my baby and deserves the best Smile

Bargebill19 · 29/09/2020 00:02

Anything for the cats.

Mondaymanic · 29/09/2020 00:24

Coffee pods, ( the eco ones), nut butters, Aldi normally, bio d stuff ( Bert try than Ecover) cleaning/ laundry.
Bamboo socks so comfy, far better than cotton ones

Deathraystare · 29/09/2020 07:29

Blasted incontinence pants and pads :(

Paranoidmarvin · 29/09/2020 07:33

Hand cream. I have some ocd odd thing with how my hands feel. Cheap hand cream is crap. So I spend as much as I can on each bottle. Saying that the new Dove pro age handcream is goo. But on offer for £2.50 at the moment. Bought some just to see and it’s good. So this my change everything.

GiraffeNecked · 29/09/2020 07:42
