How much is your weekly Shop?

After DH and I have both found ourselves redundant from Covid, we have discovered Lidl! We spend £50-£60 per week for Us,
plus 2 DC (5yr and 5 Months) Our total is inclusive of Wipes / Nappies and the odd bottle of Wine.
Interested to know how that compares to others of a similar size Family!

It averages around £65-70 a week. Family of 5 (3 primary aged girls) i shop online with sainsbury as I find it easier to control how much I'm spending and can take bits out at the end if I feel I've spent too much. I meal plan for the week so only buy those items and then bits for lunches and breakfast. We did shop with Lidl but I found none of the fresh items lasted the whole week. We are also vegetarian so that cuts our shopping down a lot.

For 2 adults and 1 toddler we spend 55-65 in aldi. During lockdown we shopped in Morrisons and we spent 75ish most weeks. That didnt include alcohol as I am pregnant but we dont scrimp on meat.

£80-100. Family of 4. DC are 5 and 2.5.

Shop at Asda and Aldi. Includes pull ups and wipes, but not coffee and laundry stuff (liquid, conditioner, vanish) - they come from Costco.

But we get through a lot of salmon. Spinach etc and my husband works from home and therefore is eating all the time....

£90 on delivery and probably fritter another £50 on top ups.

£80 for a shop that's Sunday-Friday. 2 adults. No idea how its so much

We probably spend about £130 per week in total, 5 plus a dog.

That includes a fruit/veg delivery of around £30 per week, milk and egg delivery of around £10, £50 in supermarket for groceries/nappies/dog food/lunch bits, plus a fortnightly meat delivery of around £50

Atm I think about £120 average for 3 of us but that is all lunches, cleaning products and alcohol. I would spend a bit less pre covid but was not WFH and would buy lunches at work and coffees/snacks.I spent £115 in Lidl last week, £90 in Aldi the week before. Ocado shop can be up to £130. Eat alot of fresh fish and high welfare meat.

Probably about £125 for 2 adults 2 growth spurting pre teens. That's 70 quid for a big shop then 1-2 top ups and a Sunday joint from the farm shop. We do get cleaning stuff from BM once every couple of months.

I am a gluten free fish eater (no meat) so that's an expense. I am trying to cut right down on the free from kind of foods as they are so expensive.

We do shop in Waitrose though which is an indulgence. That said, pre Covid we shopped in Tesco and our food bill was about the same. We do use a lot of frozen veg especially which is quite economical and dds love a lot of pasta meals which are also cheap. We also have a chest freezer so we get yellow sticker stuff or stuff on offer and freeze.

Yes the fruit and veg in both Aldi and Lidl is awful and goes off practically the next day after purchase.

Aldi seemed to creep up to about £80/90 in the last few months.

We've swapped to asda and spend about £100. That includes everything. The only top I do is milk

Oh here we go.... competitive food shoppers extraordinaire. The thing about these threads is you never know what meals people are actually eating. So yes you can spend £50 versus £100 but would I actually want to eat any of your meals?

But to answer the question I probably spend £110 on average for 3 of us. I don’t buy cheap meat, eggs or milk -( I buy organic or free range.) About half my veg is organic. I could probably save £20 -£30 at least by buying the cheap options which I’m not prepared to do. I shop at Sainsbury’s and Riverford.

About £100 plus a few little top ups. Household of 5.

£50-£60 a week for me and DS but I don't scrimp on food and I buy some pricey things like manuka honey.

I also pay £11 a week on top for school dinners for DS - he likes them, I can afford it and to be honest I can't be arsed making packed lunches as a working single parent.

About £120 a week for 4 adults. Alcohol generally not included in that but includes all cleaning products, most toiletries, toilet roll, washing powder etc

Varies where I shop from farm shops to all the usual supermarkets but mostly farm shops & Sainsbury's , don't skimp on portions, main meals range from costing £50 to £5. Prefer quality over quantity

I spend too much, I spend between £80-£120 it is only me and DD 9. However, I work from home, I like to buy finest bacon and I like smoked salmon. I don't scrimp on food. It is one of my pleasures in life. I love cooking.

£130-150 for 2 adults and 3 kids. We (adults) low carb so tend to include a lot of meat, eggs and dairy which is expensive. It'd be so much cheaper if we could have a big plate of pasta.

We shop twice a week. We do a small shop on a tuesday and a big shop on a friday.

I spend about £90 a week in Asda for 2 adults and a toddler, plus maybe £20 on top ups. That includes nappies, wipes, toiletries, cleaning products and pet food. It sounds like a lot but my husband has a very active job so he needs a lot of food to keep him going. We were shopping in Aldi which was slightly cheaper but the fruit and veg was so rubbish that we switched. I'd rather pay a bit more and not end up throwing out loads of food because it's gone off the next day.
