Nothing irrational about my dislike of imperfectly anglicised or plain wrong Irish names -- Neve for Niamh is awful, and don't get me started on Sorcha pronounced as 'SORE-sha' or Aoibheann pronounced Ay-VEEN, which would be correct only if Irish language phonetics were completely reinvented.

Cáitlín stripped of its fadas and pronounced 'Kate-Lin' also gives me the rage, but to be fair, it probably has its own independent existence at this point, even if its origins were in a misunderstanding.

Some of these posts are like "help me name my puppy" threads. Ha ha

Agree 100% @FutureProofed, gives me the rage as well! Love the name Cáitlín when it's pronounced in the original Irish, but not the Katelin way.
