What name(s) do you irrationally hate?

I'll start.

Denise.

I don't know any Denises... I'm sure they're lovely. But the name just rubs me up the wrong way.

NOTE: No Karen bashing please! Because it's been hijacked as a name and it's not fair on Karens.

Juliet.

I've hated it since a child - I think there was a horrible girl at nursery with the name. Also it reminds me of courgettes and I bloody hate the things.

All the older more traditional names that are so popular at the moment.

Mabel
Edie
Evie
Albert
Wilfred etc...

Plus all the horribly twee middle class names like Milo/Arlo/Amelia/Oscar (and I about as 'Waitrose middle class' as you can get!)

Give me a normal name that doesn't date any day. Or a ridiculously over the top, horrific footballers wives name, go big or go home if you're going to do it! Grin

Jaxon because I don't know if it's pronounced as Jason or Jackson.

Occupational names:
Taylor
Cooper
Tyler
Miller
They get confusing if firstname/ surname order is not clear.

I once taught someone with a common first name as his surname and common surname as his first name. Neither was unusual for either purpose, but because he was that used to people muddling the order, he often mis-corrected his name when it was correctly presented as Surname Firstname.

I have a very boring taste in names and a DC has already been mentioned Grin

Spencer and Curtis - Both just make my teeth itch.
Daniel - never met a nice one
Samantha - vile bully at school
Morag and Imogen - both clunky and don't look or sound nice to me.

Heather - never met a normal one
Clive - urgh!!!
Aliya/ Alaiya / Aaliya - every class I teach has one, all spelt and pronounced differently, and I don't know which goes with which!

Seth. I don't know why. I'm not keen on Molly either (or any 'given names' that are diminutives of perfectly good ones. Bit that's another discussion.
I also don't like the name Priscilla. When I was having DC and on the ward afterwards, a woman nearby wanted to name her child after her mother. Except that she had absolutely no idea how to actually spell the name, which was Priscilla.

Timothy and Natasha. Met perfectly nice people with those names but they just make me ick when I hear them said aloud.

Perfectly okay boys names that are shortened, by one or two letters, that change them into awful names that irritate me - Steve, Dave, Pete, Mike.

Hate the current trend for hyphenated girls names too.

Anything hyphenated with - May.

Eg Darcy-May🤮

That does set my teeth on edge!

Also, Jayden, Harley, Kayden, Jordan.

Milly. Dreadful bully who got away with it by smiling sweetly at the teachers at DD's school
But less personally - the usual Jaydens and Kaydens, and twee girl names like Evie and Lyla, and anything hyphenated.
