I hate the noise of the grand prix...grr!!

DH watching the Grand Prix highlights. Just cant bare the monotonous drone. I'm in the kitchen doing the ironing 🙄🙄 but can still hear it. Is it just me that finds the noise really irritating?

Are you referring to the commentary or the noise from the cars? For some reason the noise from the cars makes me irrationally angry. I don't know why, but I have to leave the room when DH is watching it on the TV.

The current cars do make a crap droning noise. The old V10 engined cars, on the other hand made glorious screaming engine music. They were amazing.

I'm the same, DH loves it, it's just an annoying droning noise to DD and me. There's definitely something irritating about it!

Yeah, the noise from the cars. I'm the saw, makes me feel agitated!

Overreaction much? If a simple comment bothers you why waste your time answering? OP wasn't asking for anything but being able to vent how she felt.

OP I don't like it either. Most sports I'm happy to watch or listen to, F1 grinds my gears!

I get like that too. And over football matches. And horse racing. I basically hate fast noise!!! Headphones or mute with subtitles where available and I can manage fine.

DH once phoned me from the Grand Prix so I could appreciate the noise, I hung up on him 😁
The noise goes through me and I have to leave the room if it's on or send DH to watch it elsewhere

Can't stand it either! I lived in a house share once where one of the others was a big fan so her and her boyfriend would sit watching it with the volume up loud. That included the races which were on at stupid o'clock too.

It doesn't sound like I remember when Df used to watch it when I was a kid. Sounds like a swarm of bees. Also these commentators are a bit screechy too!

It used to send me to sleep (like white noise) when DH used to watch it (until I got into it and could stay awake for entire race!)

We have noise pollution rules in our house.
OH and I have very different tastes in music to the point of actually disliking what each would want to listen to.
So we don't subject each other to it. We use headphones.
OH likes cricket , but again will use headphones.

I value tranquility.

I remember this as a child. Utterly vile droning. I'm very glad I never have to hear it again.

Nope sorry don't get you. My DP/DSS/DS have been into Motor racing especially F1 fir ever. 19 years and counting, DS is so into it he is going to do a degree in motorsport engineering. I take an interest because they are all interested. Just like they take an interest in my interests. It's called being a family IMO
