I just discovered something by accident

and it has changed my life

@MulticolourMophead

These days, I only use the rolling pin to batter the ice. I keep a bag in the freezer, and it's usually frozen into a single lump by the time we get back from the shop. It's very satisfying, though.
I use mine to bash the chicken filets flat when I feel like making chicken schnitzels. Rolling pins are fab.

@JustLetMeLookAtTheFuckingHam

I think you're missing a sense of irony *@BanditoShipman*, looking at OP's post on that thread.

Love that someone is being subtly accused of trolling on a thread about fucking microwave rice Grin

Quite possibly 🤣

But Ive just spent a happy ten minutes trying to work out if you could physically be a grandmother at 25 so it’s not all bad 🤣

Suckmuckduck · 24/09/2020 16:39

Maybe a step grandma?

iklboo · 24/09/2020 16:39

Just giving it a mild shake or two works, too, OP. You don't need to get all Die Hard on it.

Where's the fun in that? Grin

newtb · 24/09/2020 16:46

Rolling pins are also good to hammer around the lid of a hermetically sealed jar to break the vacuum before opening.

I used to use an open door, but at the moment I'm in a rented house, and don't want to lose my deposit for damaging the very flimsy internal doors.

butterpuffed · 24/09/2020 16:47

If you just squeeze the packet and break the rice up before microwaving it has the same effect. Saying that I thought everyone did that though

Apparently only 99.9999999999% of us do Grin

ktp100 · 24/09/2020 16:48

Jeeeesus. This is some dumb shit right here.

Itisbetter · 24/09/2020 17:16

Lawn mower is good, but ..... if your gutter is clogged up with leaves, wait for winter and remove them in a revolting huge gutter ice block. Squeaky clean in an instant. Worth the wait and an excuse to do fuck all about it for months

Now this is genius

(Ignoring the mixture of ice on the ground and ladders being a recipe for disaster)

Harriedharriet · 24/09/2020 17:32

@giantangryrooster

How do you accidentally give something a good thrashing with a rolling pin?

OP's poor dp would like to know that too.

You should work for NASA

RunningWaterfall · 24/09/2020 17:48

You can!

You can!

Only in very sad circumstances.
thinkingaboutLangCleg · 24/09/2020 18:01

Thanks - always good to have a fast-food tip!

StrawberryMice · 24/09/2020 18:09

I'm pretty sure it says something about this on the actual packet.

Have you read the instructions?

AintNobodyHereButUsChickens · 24/09/2020 18:26

My neighbour over the road has a huuuuuge privet hedge, it goes all the way around his property. When he trims it he uses his mower to hoover up all the clippings, genius!

At our old house one of the neighbours had a holly hedge and he used to pick his mower up (flymo, one of those hover mowers) and mow the top of his hedge :o

Who knew a lawn mower could be so versatile?

Ohdoleavemealone · 24/09/2020 18:29

pretty sure the instructions actually say to squeeze the rice for this very reason!

MiddleClassProblem · 24/09/2020 18:37

Omg OP! I’m picturing you previously just giving the pack one squeeze in the middle. I treat it like bubble wrap!

AdamNotEve · 24/09/2020 18:42

🤯

SoulofanAggron · 24/09/2020 19:09

It says on the packet that you're supposed to break it up.

Rolling pin sounds like a good plan though.

LindaEllen · 24/09/2020 19:18

If it's Uncle Ben's rice, it literally tells you on the packet that you need to break it up! :)

cyclingmad · 24/09/2020 21:21

It tells you to squeeze it on the back of the packet, have you never read thr bs k of the pack because you must of to find out the cooking time and temp and it says it right there Hmm

Colinthedaxi · 24/09/2020 21:35

Everyone that carefully reads the packet - have you also noticed a portion is HALF a packet... pffffff

StephenKong · 24/09/2020 21:47

It's a bizarre thing to post, actually. "Look at what I've discovered by accident ", when it's signposted right there on the packaging.
Which is how everybody else "discovered" it.

Anordinarymum · 24/09/2020 21:55

@BanditoShipman

I thought you were 25? How did you get a grandson at 25?

Happened to see a post by you earlier and yiur username stuck in my head weirdly so remembered.

Ah.......... you got me :)

I lied
