Deodorant that actually works?

CodenameVillanelle · 24/09/2020 10:35

Been using sure but I start smelling of BO half way through a workout and if I get a bit warm during the day...pointless. Can anyone recommend a deodorant that actually works?? Don't mind reapplying but it should be able to get through an hour!
Thanks

Mitchum stick then spray.

Absolutely nothing else works for me & believe me, I’ve tried them all.

QuestionableMouse · 24/09/2020 10:38

Which sure do you use because some work better than others?

I honestly think this is one of those things where you just have to try a few to find which suits your body. I use Sure Bright Bouquet and it lasts me through a warm and sweaty shift at work with no smell.

CodenameVillanelle · 24/09/2020 10:43

I've got sure 72 hours (lol) pure fresh.
I'll try the Mitchum!

The only thing that keeps me smelling fresh all day is using a crystal stick, like pitrok, on wet arm pits straight after a shower. It doesn't stop me sweating but there's no odour. But different things work for different people, I've heard that crystal deodorants don't work for some people and products like sure and mitchum don't work for me - it's trial and error.

Champagneforeveryone · 24/09/2020 11:13

After much research, I've settled on Dove for men, as well as using an antibacterial soap in the shower. Previously things that worked would suddenly stop.

It was very much age related in my case

I start smelling of BO half way through a workout

Doesn't everyone?

Stompythedinosaur · 24/09/2020 11:59

Mitchum here as well.

Surely not, or the gym would smell much worse than it does!

I use Mitchum unscented roll-on - nothing else works as well for me.

bumblebeebiz · 24/09/2020 12:26

I found this recently (with Sure 72 hours also) but I've swapped soaps and it's working fine now. I use Sheild soap and have stuck to the same deodorant.

BaronessBomburst · 24/09/2020 12:37

Anything with alcohol in works for me. Unortunately most tend to be 'mild and gentle' with 0% alcohol so I have to hunt through the shelves. Both Sure and Nivea have a roll-on that isn't alcohol free.

DottyFlossie · 24/09/2020 12:41

I use Mitchum roll on and DD17 uses Mitchum spray. Both really good and effective.

amusedtodeath1 · 24/09/2020 12:49

Another vote for Mitchum here

hahahahahelp · 24/09/2020 13:03

Mitchum roll on , recommended on here has changed my life. I was so stinky sorry and it was ruining my tops.

BloodyCreateUsername · 24/09/2020 13:04

Mitchum but me and DH use it.

No not at all 🤣 I use any deodorant, usually whatever's on offer and never smell like bo. It would take me a good few days of not washing to smell like bo (obviously I wash everyday though).

No. I sweat profusely but never smell. I use driclor for the wetness.
DemolitionBarbie · 24/09/2020 13:10

Are you sure you don't need to drink more water? I think sweat smells more if you don't wee enough.

unmarkedbythat · 24/09/2020 13:11

Mitchum, for me. The only one that does, better even than the special stuff you can get at a chemist.

Maybe, but I don't think that's the problem. I drink a lot of water.

I use dove stick - I am really sweaty and it works great for me
My dd uses Schmidt’s rose and vanilla if you want something more natural, she gets BO if she doesn’t wear deodorant and this works well got her

burglarbettybaby · 24/09/2020 13:16

Same as champagne dove for men and bar of soap (old fashioned brands) work great for me.

Bluearsedfly36 · 24/09/2020 13:21

Another one who uses Mitchum.

JaneJeffer · 24/09/2020 13:25

Sanex

S111n20 · 24/09/2020 13:31

The only thing that works for me is dove. As many have said think you just have to try a few to see what suits you best.
