What’s for dinner?

I’m currently cooking a meat and potato pie. I love cooking autumnal food, I find it much easier cooking in autumn/winter than summer!

What’s for dinner at yours?

Panini, wedges and salad here

Ylvamoon · 23/09/2020 17:01

@flourbroachoach - a bit long winded but you can serve them with new potatoes fried (browned) with onions and a lovely leafy salad with a yoghurt dressing.

TheVanguardSix · 23/09/2020 17:02

Chicken thighs slathered in chermoula paste and olive oil, baked in the casserole pot along with chopped sweet potato and squash and chickpeas. Lots of lemon and fresh coriander when it's out of the oven. Buttery basmati rice and broccoli on the side... yum!

DH & DD are having leftover meatball pasta bake. I'm having fish pie...freezer clear out!

EternalOptimist7 · 23/09/2020 18:17

I feel ashamed at my lack of cooking from scratch when I read these threads! The freezer is overflowing so once we’ve eaten some of my bargain pizzas, ready meals etc I can get back to proper homemade meals. Not sure what’s for tea tonight as DH will be late home. Might do cheesy curly fries & baked beans or maybe pasta with pesto for speed.

We just had chicken casserole done in the slow cooker (onion, carrot, celery), with cabbage and broccoli and yorkshire puddings. First casserole of the year! Went down a treat.

TheSunIsStillShining · 23/09/2020 18:40

thai chicken w/rice + burger for my boys + broccoli soup. And shamelessly boasting: timed myself and everything done under 30mins :) I won the bet with my husband! yay! he's cooking tomorrow

GoldenHoops · 23/09/2020 18:46

Beef, onion and mushroom pie with cabbage, carrots and green beans.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 23/09/2020 18:59

A chickpea curry, with pita breads. I made the curry at lunchtime so it had plenty of time to simmer, and DP is heating it through now.

LBOCS2 · 23/09/2020 19:08

It's just me tonight. Yesterday when I was in the supermarket I had grand plans for my dinner, but now it's come down to it I am seriously considering the nutritional value of a meal made up of ready salted crisps and a slice of malt loaf.

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 23/09/2020 19:13

Ds1 - cheese pizza

Ds2 and me - Mexican bean soup with homemade cheese and onion bread (hopefully)
