Anyone else think 2020 was ‘going to be their year’?

2020 has been an absolute cunt fest from beginning to now 😥

Me too. We had so many trips booked and were going to slowly move in together towards the end of the year.

However, lockdown forced that to happen much earlier than planned and spending so much time in a 1 bedroom flat with DP unable to work for 3 months and me working from home has not been the fairytale I imagined!

I did 1st january I was really hopeful and optimistic. Booked NYC for mine and my dd big birthdays in october. Since january it's been doom and gloom. Cant wait for this year to be over tbh

Me. I was going to meet someone. I was certain that this Christmas I'd be going to markets and doing nice romantic things.

Me. We had some very special family occasions and had some lovely things planned that I'd just developed confidence to do. It was going to be a lovely year.

Me too. Left a job at the end of December and this year was going to be the big adventure- career change, left the country (...came back). It's all just been damage control since, and I often wish I had just stayed in the job I didn't like because now I am completely rudderless.

I’m 40 at the end of the year. In january I made a list of ‘40 things before I’m 40’ needless to say none of them have happened especially going to New York!

2019 was an exhausting year for me. Mat leave ended and I went back to work part time but ended up so hectic in my job that we took no holidays. 2020 has been relentless and I just want a frigging break already.

Yeah I had to cancel several awesome trips I had planned and I've been made redundant but all in all I've never been happier. I'm retraining, I've spent extra time with my kids, I've loved having a quieter life. I'm also running and exercising more which I really wanted to do this year and I've developed a great skin routine

Yes I thought I'd be pregnant with my 2nd child. Instead I've officially been diagnosed with secondary infertility and looking into IVF.

I went through absolute hell in 2012-13 so 2020 will never even come close to a shit year for me when I use the past as a comparison.

What sucks is that 2020 definitely hasn't been the worst of my life despite losing a family member in April. 2020 doesn't even make the top 3 worst years to be honest. But I know I've had it easier than a lot of people.

Yep, we had a 21st birthday celebration, two 40th celebrations, one graduation, one wedding, one honeymoon and a number of festivals/gigs/events planned for 2020. It was going to be an amazing year 🤔

When the year started, I thought it was going to be great. By mid-January it was clear to me 2020 was going to be an absolute shit show, and here we are.

Ha yes me! Recently separated and I had great plans.

I did. Finances were getting better. I was coping with more strategies in place for Sen ds. Dd was happy. We had lots of things planned. Going to watch a ballet, tennis, cricket, first trip to Cornwall etc. We had a great time in Lanzarote in February, first time on a plane for the kids.

Then it's all shot to shit.

I hate it. I'm frightened.
