🚨 (Light hearted thread alert)

I HATE prosecco- it’s horrible- it’s tastes like fizzy piss. (No i’ve never tasted urine before but this is how I imagine it would taste)

I also hate crisps. They are the opposite of cake- mmm cake.

Mrs Browns Boys is not funny whatsoever. I tried to watch a few episodes but my eyes started bleeding.

I hate watching people dancing. It’s boring. I do not understand why Strictly is so popular.

Please tell me your unpopular opinions? Grin

Bloody hell there's loads.......

Human Rights - Everybody has them, BUT, if you do something to take away the rights of another then you LOSE yours...simple...all these effing prisoners/rapists/murderers/child abusers that hide behind 'oh, that's an infringement of my human rights!' - fuck you - you took someone's rights away, you now don't have any!

Life in prisonment should mean life, not being released after 20/30 years etc, etc.

Any punishment for a crime committed should take into account the effect on the individual and the family, and should be as severe as what the effect is.

When filling a job vacancy, the best person should get the job, irrespective of gender, race etc.

Mental health should be treated the same as physical health. There are people out there who will suffer greatly with mental health, as those who live with debilitating physical conditions suffer in the same way (it affects your life and dictates what you are able to do). But there seems to be those who are happy to jump on the MH bandwagon 'This affects my mental health' , yes, it might on a temporary basis, but you getting upset about something will pass and you will feel better (a bit like when you get a cold....you feel shitty for a few days but you get over it). When you get pissed off over something, stop quoting the 'my mental health' mantra...suck it up and get on with things...there are people in the world with bigger problems than you!

There are men. There are women. There are men that think they should be women, and vice versa. If that's you, fine, change, and be what makes you happy. BIUT YOU HAVE TO BE ONE!!! Not identifying with a gender......no no no!!! Male or Female - pick one and stick with it.

I’d rather drive a 15 year old fiesta than have a new car on finance.

I don’t have a TV (haven’t had one for about 3 years) and would happily never have one.

Lip fillers look fucking awful no matter how ‘tastefully’ you think it’s been done.

Waiting until a NT child is 3+ to potty train is just laziness.

Mrs Hinch is shit and so is the grey, mirrored interior trend that her followers love.

Influencers and other people who have intentionally put themselves and their private lives in the spotlight are not exempt from scrutiny. #bekind is used as a way to justify doing whatever you like and expecting everyone to just adore you for it. Whilst we’re at it, Caroline Flack was a deeply troubled individual but she was also clearly abusive. She was not a saint and if she were a man her death would have been portrayed very differently.

PolarBearStrength · 20/09/2020 08:29

Also the concept of triggering is way overused.

Exchanging presents is mostly a waste of money, time, stress and the planet’s resources. If people just spent the money on themselves they could buy things they really wanted rather than having to be polite about the book they don’t want to read, the toiletries they won’t use, the handbag that is sort of nice but not big enough, the woolly scarf to join the other 10 at home...
Even presents given at children’s parties are mostly landfill-filler, the fun is mainly in opening them.

Absolutely this.

OMG yes.
LarryUnderwood · 20/09/2020 08:35

Musicals are terrible (except for the Buffy musical episode). Boring, cringeworthy, designed to artificially provoke emotion because the plot and dialogue is not good enough. Classic children's musicals are the worst - chitty chitty bang bang, sound of music etc. Ugh.
Brad Pitt is jowly. Bradley Cooper is just meh. My husband is fitter than both of them.
Beards look nice but they feel horrible.

AlternativePerspective · 20/09/2020 08:37

The fact it appears to now be wrong to talk about people’s weight is a huge contributor towards the obesity crisis. It’s no longer acceptable to be fat, you must have an eating disorder and no-one should ever mention it for fear of upsetting the individual. And hence they get fatter.

Aisforharlot · 20/09/2020 08:39

Se!f catering holidays are not holidays.

Babies are bloody awful.

Lockdown was, and is, utterly ridiculous. 'Covid friendly' measures are security theatre.

Agree. I’ve seen threads mention spiders with a “trigger warning” or threads about spiders where someone has come on and said “the thread needs a trigger warning.” If your phobia of spiders is that bad you can’t even read the word or see a picture on the internet, then you probably shouldn’t be on the internet you should be in therapy.

I don't like prosecco, pasta (except spaghetti) or pizza! I love other italian fare; chianti, gavi de gavi, salads, cheeses, antipasti, spaghetti dishes, bread etc.

I don't necessarily think long hair has to be the default length for women's hair. Doesn't sound like an unpopular opinion, but the look of horror / disgust on some people's when I said I was getting a pixie cut! It looked amazing actually and i felt like a chubby Charlize Theron . Then lockdown happened and I couldn't get it maintained and it went to shit, so now I'm growing it out again.

VictoriaBun · 20/09/2020 08:47

Zoos - they are just awful .
Fast food = fast to the grave, why give that shit to small children.
Jeans with all those holes / gashes in = why would you buy them , and everyone who wears them in the name of fashion is plain nuts.

I think those comments are meant to be lighthearted tbh. I don't think anyone seriously expects a trigger warning for mention of spiders..? Or do they?
user1497207191 · 20/09/2020 08:52

Judy Dench is an awful actress - just why is she so popular? She's just a sullen miserable character in everything.

Cats musical is a couple of hours of tedious rubbish.

The80sweregreat · 20/09/2020 08:55

Most actors are over rated and for a footballer to earn 2.4 million a month is outrageous. Nobody needs that kind of money.
Strictly used to be good once, but that's gone down the overhyped route and a bit unbearable now.

user1497207191 · 20/09/2020 08:57

Sunday roasts are horrible

Yes, can't stand them but you're made out to be weird if you say that.

And, yes, I feel the same about a traditional Christmas Turkey dinner.

If it wasn't for the older family members, I really wouldn't bother. I dream of going abroad for Xmas to avoid it but when I looked, a lot of hotels do Xmas dinners - aargh!

applebags · 20/09/2020 08:59

Dolphins are not 'cute'. They're just smug and annoying.

The80sweregreat · 20/09/2020 09:02

I love a roast but I hate all the cooking involved!

AlternativePerspective · 20/09/2020 09:04

I think those comments are meant to be lighthearted tbh. I don't think anyone seriously expects a trigger warning for mention of spiders..? Years ago I saw someone say on a spider thread there should be a trigger warning and I responded to it with “it’s just a spider,” or something like that, and more than one poster came back and said that I clearly didn’t understand the sheer terror someone goes through with a spider phobia and how posters should bear that in mind when posting about them. Hmm

I’d imagine people do take the piss off the back of those types of responses though, but they certainly exist.

Sparklingbrook · 20/09/2020 09:07

I think I prefer Greg James version of this to the MN thread -it’s genuinely lighthearted. Although someone called in to say ‘Mary Berry can’t cook’. Grin

ChelseaDaggers · 20/09/2020 09:09

About Mary Berry I mean!

AgnesNaismith · 20/09/2020 09:10

Agree on Christmas lunch - best thing about it is the turkey curry the next day!!

tiredanddangerous · 20/09/2020 09:10

Football is rubbish. Golf is worse.
Birthday cards and Christmas cards, in-fact any kind of card, should be banned forthwith.
People can label themselves as they wish and live their lives as they wish (provided they're not hurting anyone else) but if you have a penis you shouldn't be in a female designated space.
