🚨 (Light hearted thread alert)

I HATE prosecco- it’s horrible- it’s tastes like fizzy piss. (No i’ve never tasted urine before but this is how I imagine it would taste)

I also hate crisps. They are the opposite of cake- mmm cake.

Mrs Browns Boys is not funny whatsoever. I tried to watch a few episodes but my eyes started bleeding.

I hate watching people dancing. It’s boring. I do not understand why Strictly is so popular.

Please tell me your unpopular opinions? Grin

They are my opinions, yes. Make of them what you will.

Oh trust me, I've drawn some conclusions.

Live theatre in the main too.

Pizza. It's just bread with melted cheese on top. Why does it cost so much? Why is it so many calories and not even that filling?

The transphobia on here is odd... of course there are issues that come with social change, such as figuring out how sports are divided, but then condemning trans identities because we don’t have all the answers? That’s a prime logical fallacy. We can accept that there will be issues without turning against the movement as a whole. However, I agree the language used to avoid offending people is awfully jargon-y and unclear.

This. The basic principal of ‘don’t be a dick’ applies. The vast majority of trans women aren’t men in dresses who want to molest women in changing rooms. I do believe gender is a social construct, I do believe that trans has become trendy, I do worry about children being given hormones etc. at young ages. However I’m not about denying the lived experiences of others.

I said about the pandas years ago (really due to their lack of personality) and then I heard Chris Packham hating on them.

I totally was there first 😊.

Mumsnet is a parenting site. People on here, while they do not have to be parents, have to at least have some sort of regard for parents and children. People who repeatedly say how they hate children on here or who repeatedly say that parents are selfish for having babies, should be banned for life.

Report
SallySeven · 21/09/2020 13:08

Oh yes ChelseaDaggers.

For their own good tbh! It's an insight into some unhealthy mindset.

Yeah, I agree.

For any other type of forum, people who not only have no interest, but who deliberately seek to goad and harass the main users of the site, would be banned. But for some reason these people, who really are just trolls, are allowed to stay.

Even on here, other groups are well protected and rightly so. But the main users of this site are supposed to converse with these creepy fuckers, trolling round the site. It grinds my gears.

Leggings are not trousers and shouldn't be worn as such.
All women should have some money of their own stashed away just in case.
It's OK to be married/ living together and not have a joint account.

You can't parent away a developmental diagnosis

Should say "You can't parent away a developmental disability"

Some women get very evangelical about breastfeeding because birth wasn't what they wanted/expected so they want to compensate. Most often seen in women who had emergency c sections.

The ADHD label, in the past, was banded about too freely. While I absolutely appreciate that there are some genuine diagnoses, to many parents were told their child has ADHD instead of being told to discipline their child.

There we go, i was wondering when the disabilist twats would come out of hiding. They love threads like these don't they?
Sigh, so unoriginal. Always with the same ADHD is a label, not an excuse for bad behaviour, labels given out like candy, too many kids are just poorly parented crap. It's like they're going off a script or something.
ADHD isn't a "label." It's a diagnosis of a developmental disorder. A lifelong condition that can't simply be "parented out" of a child by being stricter.
It almost makes me laugh, the number of idiots who think you can just rock up with a badly behaved child, get them "labelled" with ADHD and start claiming that sweet sweet DLA.
I say almost because i know how fucking soul destroying and hard it can be to get a child assessed for any kind of developmental disorder.

You do know the first hurdle to jump through is often a parenting course? Which makes a mockery of your "they just get labelled with ADHD instead of being told to discipline their kids" crap. Because that is what parents get told, over and over and over again until finally someone listens to them.

My unpopular opinion - twats who think ADHD or autism are "labels given out too freely" should be gifted a child with either of those conditions. So they can see how fucking shit it is to deal with ignorant twats like themselves.

Nandos.
Transphobia on here, live and let live. Not all men want to murder and rape women and the idea that they'll go to such lengths to do so is pretty extreme. It's certainly not my idea of feminism.
Costa/Starbucks/bottled water stuck in hand constantly. (Get over yourself, boil the kettle and turn on the tap).
Multiple children. They're really expensive, one or two is perfectly enough.
Pets used as children "substitutes" and treated as such.
Kids' names that you know aren't exactly going to help them long term, eg on a CV etc (yes double barrelled nonsense, Ellie-Mai, Jayden/Kayden/Braydon etc)
Fakery - slug eyebrows, trout pouts, lashes, pornstar nails etc etc
Mrs Brown (like we've gone back to '70s "comedy"?!)
Scary dogs
Sliders (the shoe. Paired with socks and I could vomit)
Spelling (think " Chester Draws" on Facebook selling sites etc)

If only that was possible.

I would invite anyone judging the parents of children with developmental disabilities to please walk a mile in my shoes. You'd be running as fast as you could in the opposite direction before you even hit the 100yd mark.

Bill Gates isn't a philanthropist, he is a eugenicist who has damaged thousands of african children by funding a vaccine that has disabled them irretrievably.

Boris can't enforce masks because thos who voted for him are the ones who demanded their civil liberties and independence by voting Brexit.
His hands are tied unless he wants to be out on his arse at the next election.

Corbyn would have handled Covid more humanely. He'd have probably tanked the economy whilst doing so.

Whilst not belittling genuine mental illness in any way, I'm a bit fed up with people who are feeling a bit fed up or worried saying their mental health is affected.

Firstly for those with real mental health issues it's insulting. Secondly life makes everyone a bit pissed off at times. You just have to suck it up.

@LyingWitchInTheWardrobe

Agree entirely with Chicchichicchiclana, these threads should be closed down.

I read the first dozen posts, agreed with them all and nothing controversial there and then GammyLeg, goady fucker was the first.

These threads are just an excuse to be spiteful... every single time. I wish MNHQ would stop the name-changing faciility for the nice-in-their-usual-name twats too.

I've read as far as this post and I couldn't agree more.

Not sure I understand your question. You mean “jargon-y?” The hyphen is because I made the word up. Or if you mean the Stephen King comment, I was using the hyphen like I would a colon in order to emphasize the sameness between the two authors and direct the reader’s eye. Could be wrong as my grammar on here is lazy :)
