With a best before date of 23.2.20?

Yes 👍

onelastoush · 18/09/2020 14:40

Yes

EveryPlanetHasAYorkshire · 18/09/2020 14:41

Yup. It's best before not use before so it will be fine.

CloudSingsAloud · 18/09/2020 14:42

Good. So would I. Now, would you be offended if I gave it to you?

(DD has a friend over. Mum just called me in a state to say one of her friends has died so I was going to send something back she could have for dinner. I have two lasagne, but one has the above date, the other is in date)

TinyMetalBirds · 18/09/2020 14:46

Personally I would not eat it, nor would I want to be given it.

BarbaraofSeville · 18/09/2020 14:47

I think I'd give away the one in date and eat the out of date one myself.

There's nothing wrong with the out of date one, but I wouldn't give it to someone else, unless they were a very close friend/relative and I was sure they were happy to eat out of date food.

BritneyS · 18/09/2020 14:47

I wouldn’t personally give it to someone else, looks like you’re trying to have a clear out Wink but I’d eat it myself.

Spied · 18/09/2020 14:47

I'd not give the out of date one

CloudSingsAloud · 18/09/2020 14:48

But there's three of them and the in date one is for 2 people. I don't have any other "meals"

OP posts:
Hugsgalore · 18/09/2020 14:48

Just give her the in date one...

LoseLooseLucy · 18/09/2020 14:48

Yes I’d eat it, no I wouldn’t give it to anyone else.

Sportsnight · 18/09/2020 14:48

I’d eat it, but I’d gift the in date one.

LoseLooseLucy · 18/09/2020 14:49

If someone gave it to me I wouldn’t eat it.

AlCalavicci · 18/09/2020 14:49

I would eat it privudunf it had been frizen before the BBC are.
But I would not send it to someone else partly cos it just seems a bit umm unpleasant ( can't really think of the right word ) and the recipient would not know for sure when you froze it . I'd send the in date one

FunTimes2020 · 18/09/2020 14:49

I might if it was cooked Grin

SerenityNowwwww · 18/09/2020 14:49

Why not? My sister eats frozen food years past it’s sell by!

lughnasadh · 18/09/2020 14:51

I wouldn't send a shop bought lasagne, never mind an out of date one.

They surely have food.

AlCalavicci · 18/09/2020 14:51

Just seen your update , is still give them the in date and smaller one, they can add chips / salad / garlic bread

MJMG2015 · 18/09/2020 14:53

Yes, I'd eat it as it's frozen.

Depending on who was doing the giving, Whether I'd eat it Or not tbh.

It's a very kind thought though 🌷

BarbaraofSeville · 18/09/2020 14:53

So do I but it feels wrong to give it to other people, a bit 'here's some rubbish I don't want'.

RedCatBlueCat · 18/09/2020 14:55

I would eat it.
I wouldnt gift it.

As above, can you top it up with garlic bread and salad?

Mochudhu · 18/09/2020 15:17

Scrape the "0" with your fingernail so it's illegible. Not kidding.

Mochudhu · 18/09/2020 15:18

I mean make it look as though it got scratched in the freezer not really obvious.

Dailyjunglegrind · 18/09/2020 15:22

Giving a gift deserves something a little better, that hasn’t been lurking in the freezer since February. If in doubt a bottle of wine helps with shock.

SpecialWGM · 18/09/2020 15:39

Could you make DDs friend (the lady's daughter I presume) her dinner at your house and send her parents the lasagna?
