Morning all.

For the regulars, you know the routine, for anyone new -

Welcome to the Happy Place virtual cafe. The cafe is open every morning for breakfast, there are a number of different seats / tables including some wing back chairs to either side of a log fire.

Dogs and children are welcome although be warned they are sometimes whisked away to see the kitchen.

In the garden there is a sensory area, a cat area with catnip bush, a water feature (feel free to cool your feet) and an area for the kitten bees (tiny kittens, the size of a bee but with wings and the ability to sprout an umbrella from their tails).

Florence is a French pastry Chef who makes the most wonderful bread, cakes and pastries.

Fernando is a cocktail waiter who is also in charge of the huge posh Italian coffee machine.

If you don't like the menu then feel free to cook for yourself or ask one of the regulars.

Morning all.

How does everyone feel about breakfast sandwiches? Egg, bacon, bacon and egg, sausage... you get the idea

Packing up will be sandwiches and a flask of soup.

I've bought some flowering pot plants so if the kittenbees get tired away from their 'home' they have petals to sleep in.

Just a tea pls sashh although bacon and egg sounds nice
The kitten bees are getting spoilt I see? It looks lovely!

sashh · 25/09/2020 06:04

Well it's getting cold and wet outside and I want them to feel looked after.

mogloveseggs · 25/09/2020 06:19

It is you're right.
Maybe I should attempt to crochet them some little blankets?

mogloveseggs · 25/09/2020 06:19

And thanks for the tea!

MinnieMountain · 25/09/2020 06:35

Morning all

Can I have my soup for breakfast please? It's that sort of day.

I've got some catnip to plant today. I'll add some to the garden for the kitten bees.

sashh · 25/09/2020 08:44

@mogloveseggs I'm sure they would love that

mogloveseggs · 25/09/2020 19:42

I shall get onto it pronto

sashh · 26/09/2020 06:14

Morning all.

Well the hibachi grill seems to have made it inside, I have no idea how, but I'll complement it with a raclette on a couple of tables and yu can make your own breakfasts.

I'll put out platters of meat, cheese, eggs, tomatoes, peppers and new boiled potatoes and one of seafood for the hibatchi.

Please be careful if a kittenbee takes an interest

Sounds delicious @sashh
What are you up to today?

sashh · 27/09/2020 06:42

Morning all.

How about a full blown English breakfast today? Florence is making croissants but also soda bread and potato cakes. Fernando is experimenting with warm alcoholic drinks so gluhwein spiced cider, coffee with vanilla vodka.

Packing up will be a flask of a hot drink and soda bread with butter and jam.

Hi @mogloveseggs yesterday was quiet, my carer is here on a Saturday so we watch Australian Masterchef together.

Morning all! I just ordered my first Xmas present, for a friend :)

I'm not sure what gluhwein is, must google.

How's everyone?

sashh · 27/09/2020 07:15

Morning @Frownette it's warmed wine, the German equivalent of mulled wine.

MinnieMountain · 27/09/2020 07:19

Morning all

A full English sounds like a great idea for after my swim.

DH and DS are away, so I'll indulge in some gluhwein too.

sashh · 27/09/2020 09:03

Mmmm usually when I'm cooking sausages there is a dog or two around, I've not seen any for awhile.

Well I have no idea what the day is going to be like and I'm probably going back to bed so I'll leave Florence to bake goodies and Fernando to make the coffees the packing up will be pastry and coffee in a flask.

Morning
Thanks Florence and fernando for the pack ups
@sashh I'll look after things today you have a day off

crazycatlady7 · 29/09/2020 01:37

Hi, been a while since I popped in, baby is refusing to settle. A nice hot chocolate and a pastry would be lovely- I didn't manage to get dinner last night as he's not settling well unless cuddled. How's everyone?

sashh · 29/09/2020 07:03

Morning all.

@crazycatlady7 hand him over for a cuddle, I'll show him the kittrenbees.

Well F and F had some sort of, er, competition overnight making pastries and sweets so it looks like it's churros with hot chocolate for breakfast, unless you want Normandy apple tart.

The kitchen is covered n sugar, which is most unlike both of them.

Packing up will be a selection of pastries and hot chocolate.

I suggest you all have something green and less sugary for tea.

OP posts:
MinnieMountain · 29/09/2020 07:20

Mmm churos.

It's tricky when they're tiny @crazycatlady7. I hope your baby got back to sleep quickly.

crazycatlady7 · 29/09/2020 07:32

We got back to sleep about 2, he woke at 5 but played in cot for a bit and fell back to sleep until we woke him at 7.15... now the mad dash to get him to childminders and us to work.

Thanks @sashh will hand him over so I can eat if that's ok 😂

Morning all!
Churros are amazing but I like them with cinnamon sugar 😋😋

Went back to college yesterday evening, was so nice to see everyone again. How is everyone else?

sashh · 30/09/2020 05:34

Morning all.

@NoGravyForYou did you have to wear PPE? I got an email yesterday offering to let me resit my maths exam which I've chosen to do.

Florence and Fernando have been out early 'gathering' so we have a wide selection of mushrooms, berries and some apples and pears.

So I thought mushroom omelettes, stuffed puffball mushroom, yoghurt with berries.

Packing up will be frittata and berry juice.

Face coverings in the common areas but there's only 8 of us in a classroom so we are 2m apart and can take the masks off for the lecture.
