Just curious really as today is our 3rd wedding anniversary and we are going to lunch at Toby Carvery then tomorrow going for a fun day out in Southend, wishing we could go on a proper break but Covid is putting paid to that better to be safe though :)

Happy anniversary! Ours is today too! We had a nice breakfast, but it's just a normal day now. Might go out at the weekend for a nice walk or something. We usually go out for lunch, but are too busy at work right now.

Happy anniversary 💐

We don’t tend to do much as it’s very close to Christmas, so even if we wanted to go out to eat, it’s turkey on most menus! At the most it’ll be a carry out if we’re not working, but then we’ll have been married 24 years this year

Jemma2907 · 09/09/2020 12:34

Happy Anniversary! Its our 9th tomorrow and we'll be going out for a meal tomorrow to celebrate. We never go out just the two of us so really looking forward to it.
On a separate note, I hope you enjoyed your day in Southend. If you're planning on heading to the seafront, join the page Your Southend on FB as there has been a few problems the last few days and businesses along the promenade have been closing early.

We mark the day we met and the day we started dating with a slightly nicer version of a normal might in (more expensive bottle of wine, etc).

We try and do a trip abroad for our actual anniversary, but we've only actually had one so far. We normally visit some Christmas Market or other.

MIL actually wants us to celebrate our anniversary with them, which I don't really get. Lots of the activities we plan for our anniversary are not family friendly! Wink

LittlePearl · 09/09/2020 12:40

Ours was yesterday.

We almost always take the day off work and usually do something nice as treat. Latterly it's been a really good meal at our favourite restaurant.

Ginfordinner · 09/09/2020 12:41

We usually go out for a meal. This year our daughter cooked us a fabulous meal. We don't bother with cards and presents.

Happy anniversary @Animum2 Flowers

RubyFakeLips · 09/09/2020 12:46

Usually do a city break in Europe, we aren't romantic just use it as an excuse not to invite the kids!

This is outing but if not away on the actual day we get Lebanese take away and blast Sade. My DH's idea when we were first married because that year we had two ridiculously huge rows over Sade and Lebanese food. We also dice with relationship death by playing scrabble.

icedaisy · 09/09/2020 12:50

We don't do much at all as like @JudgeRindersMinder it's very close to Christmas.

However , here's a secret, this year, 16 year wedding anniversary, I am having a baby!!! Second one after being told there would be none. Got my section date this morning and cried, how lovely is that.

Happy anniversary OP.

Kurololi · 09/09/2020 12:55

It was ours yesterday! Unfortunately my husband was working and I'm extremely pregnant so we didn't do much! Had a takeaway and gave each other a smallish present that was it really.

JMAngel1 · 09/09/2020 13:00

@icedaisy. awwww that's lovely, congratulations

Valkadin · 09/09/2020 13:10

We have never done anything grand, due to covid our 21st anniversary was in strict lockdown. We watched a film together, one we had watched just before we started dating all those years ago. We then waltzed round our sitting room together, we usually go to ballroom dancing lessons. We also had a nice dinner at home. It was actually really lovely.

AngeloMysterioso · 09/09/2020 13:10

First anniversary- brunch at Sketch followed by a lovely pub/bar crawl and a walk round some London parks

Second anniversary- I was 20something weeks pregnant... just a nice dinner after work.

Third anniversary (this year)- smack bang in the middle of DS’s 9 month sleep regression phase... spent the evening pushing him round the park in his pram whilst he screamed his head off, followed by a very late dinner courtesy of Deliveroo. We handed him over to PILs for the night that weekend and had a nice dinner and some drinks then instead.

Happy Anniversary Flowers

We went to Le Gavroche for our first anniversary last February and stayed over in a hotel. Will hopefully be able to do something similar next year in these covidy times

Itsagrandoldteam · 09/09/2020 13:45

It was ours yesterday and we didn't do anything. Normally we would always go out for a meal, but we can't be bothered at the moment.
Special anniversaries are usually a weekend away, hopefully next year will be back to normal as it will be our 20th.

mylittlesandwich · 09/09/2020 13:46

Well we used to mark it with a nice meal out or a trip to the cinema. However DS was born last year the day after our anniversary and I suspect that naturally his birthday will take precedence. We were just discussing this and thing a wee trip would be a nice thing to while he's still little.

NeedWineNow · 09/09/2020 13:49

Happy Anniversary! Ours is next week. We've got a couple of days off work, staying in a hotel in Tunbridge wells and going to the Ivy for lunch. We've missed out on holidays this year but DH was determined we'd have a couple of nights away and a nice lunch out. It's our Silver Wedding next year so we're hoping that the situation improves by then.

purplefur717 · 09/09/2020 14:20

Happy 3 years.
We celebrated our 3 years in June. We went Leigh! Took ds & dog- Fresh air, walk & doughnuts.
Got an Indian takeaway & a film.

weegiemum · 09/09/2020 14:28

Happy Anniversary!

Ours is between Christmas and New Year but we always try to have a nice lunch out, or dinner. Depending on when Christmas is, sometimes dh has to work on the day so we do something when he's off.

Last year was our 25th so we went on holiday to the IceHotel in Sweden, but I think that's the only time we've had a trip away for our anniversary.

Hope you have a lovely day x

Holothane · 09/09/2020 14:31

Ours was yesterday 13 years quiet day we’re not one for going out, treats for me

Petitmum · 09/09/2020 14:36

Ours is the end of August and a week apart from my birthday. We tend to leave the kids with grandparents and have a weekend away as a sort of joint celebration. We don't both with cards or gifts though.

Bunnybumbum · 09/09/2020 14:37

Mine is Valentine’s Day so we stay home to avoid the overpriced dinners! I usually make a nice dinner and then, after we finish pudding, we dance to our first dance song. Cringe I know but it’s tradition now Grin

Pebblexox · 09/09/2020 14:38

It was our 3rd anniversary, however we did nothing as it was during lockdown.
We did have a nice big kfc takeaway. I think we may try for a weekend away next year covid 19 depending haha.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 09/09/2020 14:38

We always forget. We have a lovely friend who remembers everything so when she texts we panic, and race out to buy fizz and nibbles. Then we get drunk and watch shite on the telly.
