Ooh, I knew a Snowball too! I worked with her, she was so lovely and the name really suited her.

I knew an Ms Rumple once. Could never say it without thinking "...stiltskin" in my head.

Oh, and I know a Firstname Christmas. Lovely.

My surname is very uncommon so im not going to say it. I'm the only one in Scotland with it and nobody else in the UK has my first name and surname.
Im ex directory for life. It's great for getting the email address i want.

hastingsmua1 · 08/09/2020 00:25

Not the same but I know someone called Debbie Downer. I did wonder why her parents went with a name with unpleasant connotations but I guess they didn’t care

Chienloup · 08/09/2020 00:26

I knew a family who changed their name to Snowball. So lovely.

I went to sixth form with a girl whose surname was De'Ath.

But my favourite was two brothers whose surname was Kuba-Kuba.

anameisanameisaname · 08/09/2020 00:46

We are the only family in the U.K. with ours so I won’t say what it is but it doesn’t sound odd. Just me, DH and 2 grown DS’s neither married as yet and MIL. Quite rare even in it’s country of origin but there is a village there named after one of my DH’s ancestors. Always have to spell it out when meeting new people as no one has ever heard it before.
My DS’s found it made them very identifiable if they got up to mischief as youngsters

turnitonagain · 08/09/2020 00:48

I have a friend who was Kuntz and changed it immediately after getting married.

I also know a Frump.

Bloodybridget · 08/09/2020 00:57

I've said this before on MN, Burns-Cox, and he was a urologist!
