Traffic but not too bad & most of the time I zone out anyway. The main noise that really gets to me is dogs barking, as they set each other off. One of them doesn’t sound like a dog! Honestly it’s the most excruciating howl, I think the animal must be really distressed. There’s a guy with a motorbike but luckily we don’t hear that much.

TrufflePioneer · 05/09/2020 17:43

@JamieLeeCurtains Haaahaha! There's a particular dog that runs rampant and utterly deaf to recall, the usual refrain is "RHHUUUBAAAAAARBBB!!"

BlackeyedSusan · 05/09/2020 17:46

We are set back from the road. Bird song, revving motorbikes, traffic, lawnmower or strimmer in flats communal garden, shouting.

unlimiteddilutingjuice · 05/09/2020 17:48

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 05/09/2020 17:50

Kids playing, laughing, crying, having tantrums
Cars scraping themselves on speed bumps, planes (but not so much now), occasional helicopter
Foxes having sex at night (sounds like a child being murdered)
People walking home from the pub
Birds
Music
People having parties

Smallsteps88 · 05/09/2020 17:50

Dogs crying Sad I can cope with the barking but the crying is heartbreaking.

Children playing

Idiots on scramblers and boy racers revving and doing donuts.

Cats fighting

Sirens

Car horns

Church bells

Helicopters

Traffic

Birds

Drunken home goers

My neighbour playing stupid music and shouting at his tv. His kids emulating elephants.

Bwlch · 05/09/2020 17:54

Birds (including hens), cows, sheep, agricultural machinery, aeroplanes, gunfire, chainsaws, lawnmowers, motorbikes on a Sunday.

FallonsTeaRoom · 05/09/2020 17:56

Agriculture Traffic and occasional ambulances at the front.
Pigeons, woodpecker, ducks and horses at the back.

MrsPworkingmummy · 05/09/2020 17:56

Seagulls, birds, children playing (and screaming for my daughter to go out and play), occasional train, occasional boy racer car zooming along the public road alongside our house (we're on an old private road but are the end terraced so also have a public road and pavement running down the side of my home's gable end), occasional charva swearing or speaking loudly into their phones walking down said public road (our house is in a conservation area and is only allowed single glazed windows on the front), lawn mowers.

wishywashywoowoo70 · 05/09/2020 17:58

pushananas · 05/09/2020 18:00

At the moment I can hear church bells, a cooing collared dove on the bird table and magpies.

easythatsfragile · 05/09/2020 18:01

All fucking day

Baaaahhhhh · 05/09/2020 18:13

Just stuck my head out of the window. At this time on a Saturday evening, absolutely nothing...... very distant traffic, cooing pigeons. That's it. Very calm.

GuyFawkesDay · 05/09/2020 18:17

Sheep.
Birds. Lots of them.
Dogs
Kids playing.
The main road a mile away when the wind blows the wrong way.

Manolin · 05/09/2020 18:20

Wind. Dawn chorus. Muntjacks. Air Ambulance, thundering over our heath and county bridge. Wind. Boughs swaying, leathery and feathery branches swish-shaying. That's the bay trees mainly or the ash. Swallows. Until now, I fear this is their last day. They took their babies away, though not babies anymore. Those little eggs, now hatched out into young birds - our equivalent of a 14 year old - now flying over the Channel, or France, towards Africa. I hear silence. Not a sound now. I am sad.

nosswith · 05/09/2020 18:20

Building work as flats are being built down the road from me. Though the noise is only Monday to Friday between 8 and 4 as God ordained that construction and road works can only take place between these hours.

IcanandIwill · 05/09/2020 18:24

Seagulls, cars driving past, neighbours beepy sports timer thingy

BeTheHokeyMan · 05/09/2020 18:42
