I would say it's mainly people using power tools and birds twerping

OP posts:
Chicchicchicchiclana · 05/09/2020 16:36

Two very noisy little boys, one of whom always seems to be crying, two braying parents ... often shouting commands to Alexa who can't seem to hear over the racket.

Give me a bit of aeroplane noise any day.

KilljoysDutch · 05/09/2020 16:37

"OLLLLLLLLLLLLLYYYYYYYYYYYY" He's a bit of a terror to be honest and we hear this at least two or three times a day.

daisychain1620 · 05/09/2020 16:37

Wood pigeons, horses, football being played

EspressoX10 · 05/09/2020 16:47

We live wedged between two golf courses and a small private airport (rural Scotland).

So lots of golf balls and loud, loud, loud teeny tiny planes.

Also screeching kids and stupid loud petrol lawnmowers.

giantangryrooster · 05/09/2020 16:48

Same as you OP, though I swear our nearly 90 year old next door neighbor owns every bloody garden appliance and chain saw available. And he uses them Grin.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 05/09/2020 16:50

During the day, lawnmowers, birds, the occasional dog barking. There is an ancient oak tree in next doors garden which houses a rookery. Sometimes its silent, sometimes it's really noisy.

At night, there is an owl in one of our trees which hoots quite loudly. Otherwise it's pretty quiet

OutOfDateAppleCrumble · 05/09/2020 16:52

My neighbours enjoying their gardens, 2 houses being renovated, my other neighbours shouting at MOLLY who I think is a dog and birds singing.

At night it’s usually silent apart from owls.

FatCatThinCat · 05/09/2020 16:53

During the day crow and magpie wars. The magpies are resident in the trees in our garden. The crow trees over the back were chopped down by the council. The war has been going on for 2 years and both sides have brought in reinforcements. The noise is unbelievable.

During the night fecking raggarbil. For those who haven't had the pleasure raggarbil is a weird 50s swedish/american culture built around cars that looked wrecked (the more wrecked the better) and shit distinctive music. They spend their evenings cruising round the town sharing their shit music with the rest of us. Unfortunately my town is the spiritual home of raggarbilar and they come here from all over just to be seen in all their shitness.

Toilenstripes · 05/09/2020 16:54

Children having meltdowns on the way to and from school. It’s like they stop right in front of my mid-terraced door and scream blue murder. 🤨

Jocasta2018 · 05/09/2020 16:54

During the day, other than birds singing, noises such as lawn mowers, DIY stuff, neighbours talking, cars. For the number of people in the area, it's very quiet & peaceful.
At night, well that's a different matter... Massive cat fights, foxes playing noisily on my front lawn, hedgehogs rustling past the front windows on their way to my neighbour's garden for dinner & there are a couple of noisy owls! Few cars & rarely parties.
Over the summer I was sleeping with earplugs so I could have the windows open - not to block out neighbours but all the animals!

cherryblossommorningstoday · 05/09/2020 16:54

Sheep in the early evening

The neighbour's landscaping works (which I'm ok with as they are lovely and it will end!)

FatCatThinCat · 05/09/2020 16:54

Let me introduce you all to the joys of raggarbilar:

Campbeltown or Machrihanish?
stargirl1701 · 05/09/2020 16:55

Combines, tractors, etc. Birds. The boom of the bird scarer all summer long!

TrufflePioneer · 05/09/2020 16:57

See my post under "Common sights on your street" - and generally people yelling for dogs that they've let off the lead on the field which are now running riot and not coming back.

Manolin · 05/09/2020 16:59

@mmgirish

Birds, people splashing in the pool and the call to prayer.
That reminds me of Agios Nikolaos @mmgirish if you add the sound of an odd scooter every 30 minutes or so.
barberousbarbara · 05/09/2020 17:01

Traffic (cars, buses & tractors), birds, cattle and sheep. Where I live people only seen to be able to shout at each other on the street. At night we have a very loud owl hooting.

killerofmen · 05/09/2020 17:05

Dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs

Next door neighbour - 2 dogs
Two doors down - 4 dogs
3 houses opposite - 1 dog each.

If one of them barks it starts a chain reaction of dog noise that lasts forever.

So many dogs.

spiderlight · 05/09/2020 17:07

Our lovely neighbour is a retired engineer and spends all day every day tinkering with stuff in his garage. He drills and hammers and grinds and saws for hours on end, but he's such a nice chap that we don't mind at all. Other than that, and a bit of banging from the other side which is being refurbished, it's mostly playground noise from the primary school behind the house.

disorganisedsecretsquirrel · 05/09/2020 17:13

Sheep

Oh I'd forgotten we had an 'Oh Christ Fenton' episode yesterday morning at 7.30am too.
