How do you make home cosy for autumn?

What kind of things do you change to make the house cosy?
I am going to put new throws on the sofas, get new candles and look at autumn recipes but was curious what changes others make to mark the change of season.

We decorate for Halloween, that marks the season change for me

Our decorations are def more American primative, cute cats.. Autumn leaves.. Cute felt witches boot bunting... Gentle.. Pumpkins..

Absolutely no blood and gore! Owls on magic spell books... Orange and green battery lights.. That sort of thing, I love it.

I decorated for Easter too, again its just the re birth thing really

If I was richer I'd love to change curtains over to more heavy velvet ones, change sofa throws and even floor rugs. I like the idea of richer thicker winter rugs...

Velvet curtains, throws and rugs sound lovely @deflationexasperation, so luxurious... a bit out of my budget too though! I've bought a new moss-green sofa throw but that was only about a fiver...

The DC love pumpkins and green/ orange/ purple lights, blood and gore not so much. DS2 wants to dress as a bat to Trick or Treat (if we're allowed to by then?!) and DS1 wants to be a dinosaur

In the meantime I'll try to convince myself that the DC's homemade tat decorations make the place look as nice as velvet throws. Sigh...
