Im on ep 4 of season 1. Usually I like dark stuff but finding it hard to watch.

Sidge · 02/09/2020 23:41

I just finished series 2 tonight and will start series 3 tomorrow.

I am loving it. It’s very dark but also nuanced and clever. And I have a massive crush on Gillian Anderson.

Brot64 · 02/09/2020 23:44

Loved it, finished it and moved on to Line of Duty and finished that pretty quickly too. Going to try Paranoid this weekend as it sounds somewhat similar.

hastingsmua1 · 02/09/2020 23:46

Honestly, I thought the first season was riveting but the last season was a bore. They dragged the same storyline out too much, the side stories were just lame filler too (the whole teenager thing.) Would have been much more enjoyable had they focused on a 2nd criminal instead.

goldpendant · 02/09/2020 23:49

So weird we have just finished it too.... loved it! A few bits I thought were strange, the fussing nurse in S3, Stella's dad issues. Very haunted by the wife and daughter scenes.

goldpendant · 02/09/2020 23:50

But agree that S3 (or some of it) was dragged out a bit.

Chouxalacreme · 02/09/2020 23:51

The overuse of Gillian Anderson’s face close ups !! It got a bit silly really !
And the fussing nurse ! No way would he not have had an armed officer right next to him / outside ? And did she ever go off shift ?

pinkoneblueone · 02/09/2020 23:56

I personally found it to be not my cup of tea I got sucked in and wanted to know what happened in the end so made my self watch it. I thought the fussing nurse was lining up to be another victim tbh.

Smallsteps88 · 03/09/2020 00:05

Fucking terrifying!

Season 1&2 good. Season 3 a snore fest.

IhateBoswell · 03/09/2020 00:08

I watched it first time around so I can’t really remember it properly, but my abiding memory is of Gillian Anderson very annoyingly whispering her lines as the series went on.

Notgoingonholiday · 03/09/2020 00:11

Agree. First 2 seasons were excellent. Third very disappointing. There was an operation that seemed to be in real time! So dull.... Watching 'Surviving R Kelly' now, bit different!

Readandwalk · 03/09/2020 00:12

I enjoyed it. But it did make out the everyone in Belfast had supermodel looks. It really doesn't.

LadyCassandra · 03/09/2020 05:15

Series 3 was so disappointing. Series 1 was absolutely amazing, but they couldn't keep the momentum going.

RosieLemonade · 03/09/2020 06:54

They should have only done S1 and S2.

ThePawtriarchy · 03/09/2020 06:56

I hated what they did to his wife and not knowing what happened - and where did her mum go?

Fast90 · 03/09/2020 07:35

@Brot64 is Paranoid a Netflix series?

OP posts:
Brot64 · 03/09/2020 07:37

@Fast90 yes it is on Netflix use to be on ITV I believe.

Agree. Gillian Anderson was amazing.

Not similar but Snowpiercer on Netflix is amazing.
Smallsteps88 · 03/09/2020 07:47

Agree. They kind of just left that part of the story hanging. The last we saw of her was her attempted suicide and then forgotten about.
Fast90 · 03/09/2020 07:50

I agree with the posters saying that they didn’t accurately depict how secure his ICU experience would have been. There is no way on earth that he would have been left with a lone nurse by either investigators or in accordance with hospital policy.

Overall I was absolutely hooked but agree that the concept of series 3 was better than its execution.

What did everyone think about the way that it ended? I’ve got mixed feelings but I think that it was very effective in the way that the viewer was probably left feeling as dissatisfied at the outcome of the series as Stella was by the investigation
