I'm listening to a combine harvester working in the field opposite my house. It's quite a sinister sound even though I know what it is.

What can you hear right now?

Washing machine spinning off, Eufy zooming round, DS snoring Grinand DH scratching his feet Envy

Pipandmum · 31/08/2020 22:02

My son walking around upstairs and the TV. The dog having a scratch and yes I do believe a scooter has just driven by. I live on the edge of a town.

MissScarletInTheSnug · 31/08/2020 22:21

DD drying her hair and DS talking to one of the cats

Amrythings · 31/08/2020 22:23

Washing machine because DSD as is now traditional, somehow forgot to wash her uniform in the three days before school, intermittent yodelling on the baby monitor as DS attempts to convince DH not to put him to bed, also some muttering about selling said DS to the circus, and in about five minutes time the factory over the road will start having its evening wheeze.

Horses4 · 31/08/2020 22:33

My idiot kittens scarpering around, and owls outside.

Goneback2school · 31/08/2020 22:36

The Guardians crew in Avengers Infinity War. Teenage Groot.

DeeDimer · 31/08/2020 22:39

We're staying in our static fairly near to the coast. A very dim occasional car, the TV (DH is watching a film in the lounge and the snuffling of the dogs as they settle for the night.
Oh and right on cue a very noisy cow in the field just made their presence known!

Noisymotorbike · 31/08/2020 22:39

Late night bus, someone coughing

Wheresthebiffer2 · 31/08/2020 22:41

The whirr from my (elderly) laptop's overheating fan. And the murmur of my DH's voice from the other room - he's on a work call, yes, at 10.40pm.

RedDiamond · 31/08/2020 22:43

My fridge.

GreenBeanMcGee · 31/08/2020 22:43

Sympathies to those with tinnitus. That's miserable.

LunaNorth · 31/08/2020 22:44

My bastarding tinnitus, and the occasional fart. My tummy’s a bit off today.

Yes, I’m a catch.

ginandgingers92 · 31/08/2020 22:45

Snoring husband, breathing bubba and the bloody lizard having a nighttime adventure.

Queenoftheashes · 31/08/2020 22:47

Fucking Tour de France
Theme tune is maddening

TerrifiedandWorried · 31/08/2020 22:59

TV, DH breathing really loudly, DS1 eating cereal and watching TV downstairs.

Best of all some bastard is letting off fireworks. First day back at work for MONTHS tomorrow and I can't sleep.

disorganisedsecretsquirrel · 31/08/2020 23:00

Nothing.. oh hold on.. an owl just hooted...

minnieok · 31/08/2020 23:05

Tv (ours) next door rowing again (louder than our tv)

Davros · 31/08/2020 23:12

Rod Stewart Atlantic Crossing. Going to sleep after Sailing

bruce43mydog · 31/08/2020 23:24

My mum arguing with my stepdad about what colour to paint the kitchen.

The joys of still living at home 🙄😠

mellongoose · 01/09/2020 02:36

DH light snoring next to me. This is a joyous sound for once, as it means he is sleeping and the pain killers are working. He's no longer in agony after his operation, which he was half an hour ago.

Settleandcalm · 01/09/2020 03:05

Dogs howling and barking, lots of them in the distance. Happens every few nights and I have no idea why or where from.

Also a cow which I think may be having a calf from the unhappy noises!

topofthewardrobe · 01/09/2020 03:12

The fan.

popsydoodle4444 · 01/09/2020 03:26

The busy main road at the end of my street;it's 3:20 AM so it's quiet enough to hear the traffic but it isn't a horrible noise though;we only usually hear the main road at night as it's quiet.

Come talk to me at about 7:30am when the annoying old fart next door likes to start up his power tools/lawnmower/strimmer etc,he's in his mid 80's and a pain in the arse.

Hippywannabe · 01/09/2020 03:30

A police helicopter that has been circling for the last half an hour just up the road. I can't sleep now and none of the local FB groups have any info!
