Has your primary school confirmed arrangements?

If you have primary children - have you heard from your school re arrangements for their return?

I've not heard anything. Before summer they talked about staggered times etc but I've no idea of the outcome. I suppose there's still a week to go...and they may be waiting to see what the government throws at them over next 7 days.

Primary Teacher here - We go back on the 6th but we haven’t released our arrangements yet, they’re going out on Monday, as we were waiting for the updated guidance that was released on Friday.

PaperMonster · 29/08/2020 17:29

Yes, we’ve had an email this week.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 29/08/2020 17:31

We start on 7th so I’d expect something next Monday —fingers crossed not Friday—.

Yes, a couple of weeks ago by email

Maranello4 · 29/08/2020 17:33

Yes - ages ago before the summer holidays started. We have set times and directions of where each year needs to go in and exit. It’s an infants school rather than a primary so may be different to others. It also stated open during lock down for key workers so they already have some processes in place.

elliejjtiny · 29/08/2020 17:33

We haven't been told anything. School calendar says they are meant to be going back on Wednesday but we don't know if that's happening or not.

Farlow · 29/08/2020 17:34

We had an email and then last week we got a video that the head had filmed aimed at the children. He walked around the school to show the children what things would look like. It really reassured dd.

SilverOtter · 29/08/2020 17:40

Yes, we've had a flurry of emails in the last couple of days.

LittleHootie · 29/08/2020 17:54

Ok thanks I'll just hang fire. Keen to know so I can sort out my work etc. They were pretty poor when he entered reception last year, I didnt even know which class he was in.

We've had a very thorough email and a fun video for the kids from the head and her dog. Our school have been brill throughout the whole thing.

MiniCooperLover · 29/08/2020 18:11

Our school will tell us last minute as they (potentially understandable) don't like to give the parents time to complain/make suggestions. We go back on 7th

ginsparkles · 29/08/2020 18:12

We were told last week.

Pipandmum · 29/08/2020 18:14

Yep. Not back to til the 8th but they sent a handbook out a couple weeks ago. They had all years from reception to Y8 back before summer break though so pretty much had it all worked out.

WeeMadArthur · 29/08/2020 18:14

We had an email with arrangements mid July but nothing since. I was hoping for another email from them before DS starts back on Wednesday

Why wouldn’t they be going back?
AllTheUserNamesAreTaken · 29/08/2020 18:39

Before the school broke up for summer, we got told the times for drop off and pick up and a couple of other bits but nothing about what school/class/breakfast club will look like. They said we would get an email during summer hols with further details. We haven’t had it yet. School starts on Wednesday Hmm

All schools stayed open for keyworker children so had procedures in place. If your school sent out details all that time ago they were pre-empting guidance as the final guidance was only published on Friday! You might find there are changes sent out.

Thecomfortador · 29/08/2020 19:01

We've had a letter regarding son's class and start / end time. Other than that, nothing. We'll just turn up next week and see what they say I guess.

SpeedofaSloth · 29/08/2020 19:02

Yes, latest one today, DD goes back on 2 September.

H1978 · 29/08/2020 19:04

Not much information as yet apart from which school gates each year group needs to use but times all the same because it’s a small school.

We’re in a lockdown area so maybe they are waiting to see if there are any changes before more information is given.

Rockbird · 29/08/2020 19:05

DD2 goes back on the 2nd. Not a sausage from her primary since July. They've been crap through lockdown so I'm not surprised.

DD1's secondary have been fab all the way through and we heard from them earlier this week.

grumpypug · 29/08/2020 19:05

Large primary. We found out 1st week of the holidays

CazM2012 · 29/08/2020 19:06

We were told start times in July (staggered) and start dates etc,
Follow up emails and messages on the school app this past week as a reminder.
Glad they’ve let us know, it is pretty much the only contact since March though.

SunbathingDragon · 29/08/2020 19:06

Yes at the very start of the summer holidays about staggered times and wraparound care. However, the head emailed last week and said we would get a further email confirming on Tuesday. I’m guessing so much changes all the time she wanted to leave it to the last minute.

Newdaynewname1 · 29/08/2020 19:07

We had detailed plans send (independent school). the whole school had been back from mid June anyway, so kids know what has changed (its actually much easier now)
