I'm in Scotland so they have been back a couple of weeks already. But I must admit it's blinking brilliant! The kids are so much happier, they are learning and seeing their friends and overall enjoying life again. I know it is concerning with the virus still around and everything, but for my kids being back in school has been worth it.
Best wishes to everyone who have kids starting back again over the next few week, hope your experience is as positive as ours

WyfOfBathe · 28/08/2020 15:07

DD (primary) - all back full time from Thursday 3rd. Staggered start/end times so she starts and ends 10 mins early, but the same number of hours as usual.

Secondary where I teach - year 7 and 12 back full time from Thursday 3rd. Other year groups back full time from Friday 4th.

GunsAndShips · 28/08/2020 15:08

DS is in year 4 and goes back full time on the 3rd.

DD is year 9 and was back on the 7th but they've just said (today) that they've decided on the 9th instead which is a bit difficult for working parents!

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 28/08/2020 15:10

Yr 2, went back on Wednesday full time.

Greengrapes1357 · 28/08/2020 15:11

Y7 Wednesday 2nd.
Y12 no idea currently planning time split between face to face lessons and online.

cherrybakewellll · 28/08/2020 15:11

We've not heard a peep from our primary school yet apart from one message to say they'll allow children to wear trainers instead of school shoes.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 28/08/2020 15:15

Wales here. The requirement is that they are to all be in full time by the 14th and that we are allowed some additional days to plan and prep and put in measures.

Originally there was talk of certain year groups (mine inc) coming back first ,but now they are all in from the 7th Sept.

My DD is in y11 and her school are taking y7s for 2 days transition on the 3rd and 4th, then her year start on the 7th Sept.

2pinkginsplease · 28/08/2020 15:17

Scotland and been back full time since August 12th, full days from the very beginning.

WeakandWobbly · 28/08/2020 15:24

Not until 10th!! Clinging on by my fingernails at the mo 😩

ForeverBubblegum · 28/08/2020 15:26

DS starting a school nursery class, but they're not starting the nursery until reception are settled in, so he'll first go in 17th. But because all the visitors and settling in stuff was cancelled in the summer term, they're starting slow, with visits with parents, then just a few hours a week. It will be the middle of October before he's doing the full 15 hours.

Kaktus · 28/08/2020 15:27

Mine went back full time on Monday (primary).

Waxonwaxoff0 · 28/08/2020 15:28

Next Thursday. Full time straight away with staggered start and finish times for different year groups. Primary school.

SedentaryCat · 28/08/2020 15:32

DS Y7 - 4 September
DD Y11 - 7 September

DH and I are back in the office one day a week from 10 September. Be good to get some structure back into things.
