Where would you hide the TV remote control?

Because DD has put it somewhere in the living room and I can't bloody well find it!

The usual under sofa / behind cushions options have been searched. We're dealing with a criminal mind here...

DS is 2, and often hides it in the logical location of next to the tv/sky box in the tv unit. So obvious I never think to look there.

SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito · 27/08/2020 18:21

Nope, TV adjacent locations searched. Nada.

My was hidden for over a week. It was in with her toys but a casual look wasn't enough to find it. We had to take everything out of the box.

You’ve got to get on your hands and knees and search the place from down there. You’ll see so much more Grin

My almost two year old, 20 years ago now, took all of my cash out of my purse and put it into her little plastic play purse. I only discovered it when I was tidying up. Nearly £100. She was no fool.

HappyPumpkin81 · 27/08/2020 18:23

Maybe in a drawer or box that you wouldn't be able to open? On the windowsill, or floor, behind a curtain?

BeGoneDom · 27/08/2020 18:23

In a toy box, dolls house or any toy that opens.

Inside the fridge!

TenShortStories · 27/08/2020 18:23

Washing machine or laundry basket!

Bloodybridget · 27/08/2020 18:23

Breadbin, down loo, somewhere in her bed, drawer, outside? With her books?

popcorndiva · 27/08/2020 18:23

usually in his pretend shopping trolley

ipswichwitch · 27/08/2020 18:25

DS2 used to hide things in the dungeon of his toy castle. I found a furry mini roll in there once🤮

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 27/08/2020 18:25

DS1 always used to tidy it away in a toy box.
DS2 used to tuck it up in his bed Grin

DappledThings · 27/08/2020 18:25

In a Wellington boot, on a shelf neatly tucked out of sight between boxes, in a toy pram, in the laundry basket.

brainstories568 · 27/08/2020 18:26

Outside? Up the fire place/down a radiator? In their bed at nap time? In plant pots?

Those are some of the more obscure places our 18 month old has put the remote recently.

turkeyboots · 27/08/2020 18:27

Washing machine or posted out the letter box? Do loved posting things out the letter box at that age, the house keys and the contents of her Granny's handbag were very memorable occasions.

TinnedPearsForPudding · 27/08/2020 18:27

Rubbish bin
Microwave / any kitchen cupboard
Handbag

SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito · 27/08/2020 18:28

Aha!! Found. So it was under the sofa Blush but in my defence she'd managed to wedge it up behind one of the legs so it was all but invisible!

I have also discovered some fairly enormous spiderwebs which concern me. Do I get rid of them and risk angering the giant spider who made them? Or put the toy box back and pretend I never saw them?!

OP posts:
riotlady · 27/08/2020 18:28

DD used to put things in my bag if i left it around.

Or in the toy kitchen?

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 27/08/2020 18:29

I'm afraid you have to burn your house down. Fire is the only solution to large spiders.

ThickFast · 27/08/2020 18:29

What spider webs...?

Lazysundayafternoons · 27/08/2020 18:30

My 14 month old puts it in his toy box, it ends up right down the bottom with all his little toys.
Also as PP said they hide things in 'obvious' places. When my older ds was 2, he 'hid' my car keys in the ignition of his play car, you know the big ones that they can sit into and drive around

SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito · 27/08/2020 18:31

What spider webs...?
You're my kind of lady! (Or gentleman.)

You need to get down on your hand and knees and crawl around looking at it from their height. Found keys, remotes, phones ect by doing this. There are so many potential hidey holes at that level that you wouldn't think of...

Whiskeylover45 · 27/08/2020 18:45

My bank card turned up down the toilet once near the u bend...

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 27/08/2020 18:51

With my DD, missing things usually turned up in one of her handbags (she was obsessed with handbags). Then there was the missing school shoes. Took me a week to find them in the cupboard under the bathroom sink. She was 5 at the time... They were with her neatly folded dirty school uniform (including socks and pants).
