Where would you hide the TV remote control?

Because DD has put it somewhere in the living room and I can't bloody well find it!

The usual under sofa / behind cushions options have been searched. We're dealing with a criminal mind here...

DD put ours in the oven of her play kitchen - together with her plastic toad.

Usually most 'missing' items in our house are actually in fact under something, like a sheet of paper or cushion that simply needs picked up.

As for spider webs OP, I would hoover them up. I'd sooner risk inciting the wrath of Shelob than having dusty old cobwebs in my house.

BendingSpoons · 27/08/2020 18:57

Glad you found it. I spent 20 mins searching for the remote recently, looking in all the places a 1yo might put it. Turns out DH had absent-mindedly tidied it up with the toys.

When ds2 was just over 2 years old, he hid my mum's gold watch inside a bottle of gaviscon with a child safe cap on it.

So, bearing that in mind it could be literally anywhere.

jessstan2 · 27/08/2020 19:01

Down the toilet or in the garden.

footprintsintheslow · 27/08/2020 19:03

Mine would put it in a bag and hang it off her toy buggy or underneath the actual pram in the shopping basket.

iklboo · 27/08/2020 19:04

OP HAS FOUND IT 😄

We found a dead mouse and half a dead bird under our couch once. Thanks, cats.

Aquamarine1029 · 27/08/2020 19:06

When my son was 2 he put the cordless phone in the bin where we kept the dog food.

Sevo7 · 27/08/2020 19:09

My 21 month old hid the sky remote the other evening and I turned the entire room upside down looking for it but couldn’t find it anywhere after searching for nearly an hour.

The next morning I told her there was no tv and went to make her breakfast and she just appeared with it straight away at the kitchen door! I’ve no idea where she put it Confused

Captainrachy · 27/08/2020 19:10

(Full) mop bucket. Speaking from experience.

GameSetMatch · 27/08/2020 19:15

Inside a vase or similar, that’s where my son hid my car keys once.

thelegohooverer · 27/08/2020 19:18

I have also discovered some fairly enormous spiderwebs which concern me. Do I get rid of them
With Halloween coming I’d consider that free decorating.

Deelish75 · 27/08/2020 19:20

Glad you found it.

I found our remote control in the seat compartment of a ride on toy. It had been missing for a week and we’d sent off for a new one.

MadeForThis · 27/08/2020 19:28

For future reference if it's a sky remote you can download the free sky remote app and just use your phone.

Rubychard · 27/08/2020 19:31

If its a sky q remote, press the sky q button on the box, and an alarm will sound on the remote. Learned that on here, saved us many times. Who knew??

EdwardCullensBiteOnTheSide · 27/08/2020 19:34

If you have a sky q box there is a button you can press on the box that makes the remote bleep! We use this function at least once a week 😂
